Hey there,
Okay fist things first. Ill try to keep it short, but this is the first opportunity I've had to use my new computer since I've gotten back from beautiful Hawaii. Thank you very much to the Mayo and Onion families. You guys were amazingly warm and giving. Sorry we missed you on the last day. My phone was dead or I would have called. Our flight was earlier than we thought. We had to rush out the door. Thanks again for your hospitality. Aloha.
I've been making knives since 1984. I learn something every time one of these guys opens his mouth.

The morning I arrived home, America was changed forever.

We've all had some time to think about things now. Everyone has seen the footage. The horror, the heroism. Sure, we've all seen these things before. There is an active war, with innocent people dying, some where in the world every day.

But today those people are Americans.
Not since the Civil War has battle taken place on American soil. (Hawaii was not yet a State at the time of Pearl Harbor).
It's nice to see so much patriotism these days. The streets are lined with flags. I'm sorry it requires such tragedy, but I like it none the less.

So, what are your thoughts? How do we handle it?
Certainly an act of war has occurred. But by who? Sure we would like to jump on a pile of people. Great time for scapegoating. If I was in charge, well never mind. Lets just say I would shorten my list. But that's why people like me are not in charge.

Lets try to talk about what SHOULD be done. How do we move on this? We have an unprecedented opportunity to act with near impunity. But against who? Its not as if the Mexicans (sorry guys) bombed the Naval base in San Diego. Then we would have someone to fight. We would act against war interests in Mexico.

This is a World War.
A one sided Holy war. In which only a certain, we'll call them ‘special', few participate. But it is a certain few of a Vast population.
A World War on our own soil. A true World War.

Where do we start? How many insurgents are currently serving in our Military? You're a fool if you believe none.
How do you refrain from racial prejudice? Because surely you must. Never be foolish enough to fall into that trap. Talk about compounding your enemy.

A wise man has suggested bounties.

What are your thoughts?

Good question and I'll reserve some of my ideas for the time being untill later.

We are witnessing an EVOLVING NEW kind of Enemy.
Unlike ANY other we have EVER fought in our history. I propose a STRATEGY that is THUROUGHLY and INTRIQUETLY thought out. I think we will need to get back to SUN TZU (Art of War) and REALLY understand OUR ENEMY. We have made some fundamental errors from TRUSTING to much in our Past. Yes, I know that sounds harsh to some but we really have been far to trusting w/ our Technology and Intellegence. I have felt this for sometime and no one really acknowledged it or wanted to do something. But that time is obviously unpon us now. Hopefully the SHEEPLE will wake up and witrness their flawed MODEL. Sure it would be nice if EVERYONE conducted themselves w/ RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY and HUMILITY , RESPECT, COMPASSION et al, ETC.

But the simple reality is they don't. I truly believe we are in a PIVITAL time right now and have the oppurtunity to do this right and show the WORLD why we are the AWESOME SUPER POWER we are.


Let's STRAGTEGIZE it right this time and REALLY do it right so that we can restore our FREEDOMS and at least get back to "CONDITION
YELLOW " staying in ORANGE, RED and BLACK SUCKS !

I'd like to hear some ideas that are COGENT, CONCISE, BRILLIANT,
RATIONAL, EFFICASIOUS, INSPIRING, LONG TERM MINDED, SHORT TERM MINDED,
BENEFICIAL to HUMANITY if possible, et al etc.


But please, think them through w/o Knee Jerk reactions that are futile.

You know, I am still in disbelief as to how this could happen. On Tuesday morning I was helping out with the Primaries in NYC. I was station in Chinatown, with a clear view of the WTC. I still cannot belief I saw the blast and the fall of these two buildings. Everyone just stood there. Like we were going through some kind of nightmare and wish someone would wake us up. I do hope I never have to witness anything like it again. I tried so hard not to cry because I knew having work there before the large amount of people in and out of the WTC daily. People who did this is not on a holy war. It is a senseless act. One who care not about hurting innocent civilians. But will use them as pawns in war. Let me not keep on the rant.

Well,lets see. This is a new enemy. Because they use lone wolf or small packs to destroy the target. It is not an enemy with a huge army or land to call their own. They run from one hiding place to another. They operate in small groups that many from the outside cannot get in. We have to constantly check and recheck their hiding place. We are facing a new war. It is not against a single group but maybe groups with many silent partners. It might takes us years to catch these guys.

We have to track all the money that moves around the world. The same why they deal with drug lord hiding money in different countries. We can then see who is helping who. We need all the help we can get on this. Also tracking everyone that enters the country, see where they live, travel, time they were there. I know countries like Isreal does this with potential terriosts. We have to do it. We have to track their movements. Even now there is still belief that there are groups waiting to attack. To make sure we are hit even harder.

If this is a war that is going to be fourght on our soil then I hope more people come to their senses about carring knives. I know knives got a bad name when it was reported that that was the weapon use to gain control of the planes. I just wish more politicians would have more common sense. If everyone had knives and knew how to use it, there would be a lot less crime. But the public is so afraid of violence that they would ban it. Law abiding citizens are not criminals. We have all taken for grated the peace that was afforted to us for living here. Now we have to deal with this like the rest of the world.

Hey Mick: For my part I am working on some blades to donate to local guys being called up! This is some wild **** that looks like it may get more wild.. I hope everyone is watching thier ass, and taking this serious.. I doubt this stuff is over...

I believe we have to have the resolve to be in a long term war with terrorists of every stripe and the countries that support them. Certainly we must deal strongly with the Taliban government in Afghanistan and if it is true that Iraq financed the attacks then we must deal with them also. But after that we must be prepared to hunt down and kill every terrorist who even throws a molatov cocktail.

As an aside, I think it is great how Strider, SOE, Trace Rinaldi and many others are working hard to get equipment to troops. Fortunately for me, I have a few good knives (and other gear) already. My Air Guard unit hasn't got orders yet, we just happen to have drill this weekend so hopefully we'll here something. I, for one, am ready to go! Stateside or overseas, wherever. For anyone who may be out there and in the Guard or Reserves and is wavering, if you can't go now, then when? Hopefully we won't have any of those "I'm only here for the college money" *******s this time around.

Retribution??? Without question!!
Against whom?? That is beginning to become clear!
The real problem?? Not a few wackos...but rather the mindset of a peculiar part of a VERY LARGE world religion. These religios teachers begin to train their converts at birth....teaching them ideologies that are against logic, reason, and all natural instinct. The Japanese did the same thing with the kamakaze pilots in the 30's. Finally these men come to the belief that their ruthless rage against innocent men, women and children are truly acts of worship to the GOD of the universe. Talk about someone believing a lie. The first chapter of Romans spells out this mindset very clearly, where a person comes to the point of having a reprobate mind.....which means he is unable to distinguish between good and evil. We have a number of politicians in this country that are leaning way over in that direction also.....and as the days go by we will hear them whining about how we need to be TOLERANT and UNDERSTANDING of these cruel senseless beasts of men who have carried out this attack and the others who continue to plot such acts. MAKE NO MISTAKE- these people can NOT be reformed.......the only way to deal with them is to lock them up forever or wipe them off the face of the earth. Evil flurishes
when good men do nothing. I blame a very LARGE part of this problem on the past 8 years in the Oval Office.....the stuff that went on there, including the bombing of senseless targets to cover up some personal embarrassments, has only provoked these people to new heights of insanity. Sorry for going so long........GOD BLESS AMERICA. Keep the faith.......we SHALL overcome. :)

Bounties sounds like a good start.

Lots and Lots of GOOD Intel combined with several good size groups of spec ops shooters would also be a good start.

Carpet bombing of certain regions that are havens for these terrorist's training camps.(You guys know where.)

How about some better controls on who we allow into certain positions. (Mick,you hit the nail on the head by saying they have penetrated the Armed forces, sadly we won't know who they are until they take action against us.)

And finally, I hope everyone is done bickering between each other about race, abortion, fur,blah,blah,blah. Let's keep up this unity and act like Americans forever, not just when something tragic happens.

We must be unconventional. This war is going to escalate, and troops, when they are sent in, will be facing an enemy not seen since Vietnam - in fact, this enemy is even MORE dangerous. Everyone saw what happened to the Russians in Afghanistan... of course, we helped the Afghans then, but that's not the point. THe point is, this war will be unconventional, and if we go in thinking it's Desert Storm all over again, we're going to get hurt. Badly. We need to kow our enemy - where he operates. HOW he operates. What his tactics are. We must take for granted that seeming noncombatants will become combatants. There will be no "friendlies" - these people have been told since birth we are the enemy, and they will go to paradise for killing us. Witness the children dancing in the streets of Palestine. Can they unlearn this hatred? Do we have the time to teach them? No. It may sound harsh, and cold, but every terrorist cell must be expunged. All their assets must be found and seized. All their sympathizers must be destroyed. If we don't, the child of today will grow up to be the new terrorist of tomorrow, with even more of a chip on his shoulder. And God forbid these animals get hold of nuclear weapons! We were able to have a COld War with the USSR because the Soviets were as a fraid of dying as we were. Not so this new enemy, who's GOAL is death in combat. These zealots must be exterminated before they can bring weapons of mass destruction to bear on us.

Track their funding. Study their training and methods. Squeeze the balls of the governments hiding them for information and location. Go in and anhilliate.

I share the sentiments of 90% (or more) of America. If recalled to serve in the Marine Corps I will do what I didn't even do in Desert Storm - I will do exactly as I'm told to do 100% of the time without ever questioning anything. I see the warrior spirit in all of America: Failure doesn't exist - Success is all that we will know.
I won't restate what's already been said, but welcome to The Next Great Generation.
 
As for prospects for the future, my assumption is that we will not be so lucky. We will become entangled in guerilla conflict, far removed from lines of supply and we will incur casualties. If we retain the stomach for that kind of fight, then we will prevail.

As for the North American continent, be prepared for asymmetrical offensives. Now that we are on to the notion of using commercial aircraft as missiles, they will shift. Car bombs and walking bombs will be unleashed (much like the IRA in London or Hamas in Tel Aviv). If possible, they will use sarin gas (relatively easy to make) to kill gathered groups and make attempts at the water supply. I doubt that germ warfare will occur because the first two are easier. Bottom line: Keep your eyes open. I am not afraid for the United States, but I am watching my back.
