I EDC a lot of different knives, but I keep finding the Stretch II in my pocket 75% of the time.

How did you do it Sal?You got some 'top secret' washers in there?:D

I've showed it to a few non-knife & knife people & that was the first thing they commented on..."Wow,That opens sooo smooth!"

I have a few other mid-lock Spydies(Chinook's 1,2,& 3,Persians lg & sm,Salts,Delicas,Enduras, etc) & none of them even come close to the smoothness of the Stretch II.

It's a tough call, but if I could only keep one Spydie,it would be this one.Everything about it is perfect. The ergos feel like they were form fitted for MY hand. The 3.5" FFG ZDP-189 blade, cuts & cuts,& seems to never need sharpening.Even the pocket clip is perfect. It may not be my most attractive Spydie, but it makes up for that in so many other ways.

Superb job all around! Thanks Sal & the Spyderco team for making such a great knife!:thumbup:

Try the Manix 2 if you get the chance. I would like to hear how they compare!

For me the new Manix puts the oo in smooth!

The P'Kal and Manix 2 are really smooth. My Orange and S90V Millies are just about as smooth too. Haven't played with the Stretch II much though.

The Manix 2 I have is smoother than either of my Stretch 2's (CF & FRN). My guess to why is that the ball lock provides a very small and very smooth area against the blade vs. the wider, flat, edge of the top lock bar when opening. Just a guess though.

A lot of comments about the Manix 2.I gotta check one out.All that jimping is a bit of a turnoff to me though.

You must. It's an insane value and a wonderful knife to boot. The jimping is functional, I can't find fault with it.

I grabbed two Manix2 the day they were avail and they are great but I find myself carrying my SageTi much more often. what a sweet knife it is. :)

Don't worry bout the jimping, once in hand, you wont even no it's there.
I love my CF Stretch, but I tell you what, this M ll is a bargan and a really cool knife. You needs one ;)

Got a FRN stretch on the way, hope it is as smooooth as your stretch 2 :)
Can't guarantee it, but the FRN Stretch II that I have is every bit as smooth as my CF Stretch IIs are.

The FRN Stretch is pretty smooth. Not as smooth as the Manix 2 though. I noticed the spring in the Stretch's lock has a lot less tension on it than the Endura 4. I think this gives it a smoother and easier opening feel.
