The Stretch, what a cool knife!

I was pleasantly surprised with the Stretch. I had seen plenty of pics and really liked the blade shape alot, but I am not a big fan of SS handles. This one carries very flat in the pocket, but the clip and the inserts make it feel better in the hand. The thin blade with high flat grind makes it a slicing demon. I really like the shallow choil to choke up on for carving etc. Since the blade is so thin and lite, I think a FRN handle would make this amazing though. This knife is begging to be a lightweight light saber! :D Regardless, this knife will see plenty of use in the city and in the woods.

I've had my Stretch about a month. It's my "Do it all" knife. Use it 20-30 times a day for various chores. When I first got it I reshaped the edge and now I touch the edge on a hard arkansas occassionally and she's good to go. I love my Stretch.

I love the Stretch. It has taken almost total possession of my pocket and gets used more in the kitchen than either of my "kitchen spydies".

Rather than an "all FRN" handle, how about drilling some major lightening holes in the steel one where the kraton inlays sit, milling out the "landing pad" areas completely, then substituting FRN panels with about 20 line per inch checkering for the kraton.

no no no no, how's about this? > a open-construction handle, like the ATR, with transparent handle-spacers so you can see the frontlock in action!

if the stretch were made with such a handle i'd already own one :D

Anything that would save some weight in the handle would be greta by me. The current handle is awesome, but seems overbuilt for such a lightweight blade.

GOT PICTURES?
Love to see it.
I was thinking of getting one, but stopped short because of the steel handle.

I bought some steel handled ones in the 70's or 80's and did not like them.
I am in a position now to do mod's, if necessary.

the Stretch is a great one, particularly considering that the Stretch is basically a larger pro grip, a favorite of mine.

I don't care for the kraton inserts though.

I had considered sending a Stretch to Chax knives to be sandwiched under new g-10 or carbon fiber scales. Now that, would absolutley rock!

Chase is replacing the kraton inlays on one of my Stretches with brown canvas micarta. When I get it back I'll post some pictures.

Well, I didn't know he did that! That would be really cool. I may have send mine off too.

Got her back today, as promised here are the pictures...

Razz, if he'd do it in matte CF like the stuff on the C22 Walker I got today, I'd be right behind you in line for one. :D
