well last night i finley finished the knife. i must say i love it and will be making one for me to carry. i have had random people hold it and tell me what thay think, thay all tell me that it is one of the most confortable knives thay have held. the whole know is hand sanded down to 600 grit and has a very nice finish. The blade is a full convex and has an urreal edge, it will shave my leg with no problems asked. here are some pictures of it

let me describe the design a little. first off the handle, i had people tell me that i should put in a thumb grove. after looking at the knife i thought yes it would be nice but i thought it would make the handle to thin because there is a finger grove right under where the thumb grove would go. so i thought about it and decided to leve the spot where the thumb sits completley flat excepr a slight curve on the edge, then halfway down the handle i rounded it so it fits the palm and the fingers as thay wrap up the sides a little. it also has 2 full finger groves and then a half grove for the ring finger, these groves are tapered up the sides to atcheeve the most confort. the tang extends out then butt of the knife and has a hole through if for a cord, also if there is any shrinking you win not notice because the tang is allredy exposed. it has 2 brass 3/16" pins through it and the scales are glued to the tang with a 24hr jb weld. the handle is cocobolo and is hand shaped with sand paper and finished by hand with 600 grit paper. the handle is 3" long and has the same curve shape as the blade, it is also 13/16" thick so as to fill the palm. Now the blade is 2.5" long and 1" wide by 1/8" thick. it is hand finished to a grit of 600. also it has a full convex grind on the edge bevle and has a hair poping edge. the edge hard ness is around 58-60 i think but i will go in and have it tested. over all this must be the most confortable knife i have ever held and i could use it all day and not be in any disconfort at all.

let me know what you think about it, i have 5 more in the works that i hope will be done soon. thay will be for sale with or with out a sheith.

must say i like the wood and the design, but my hand is 4 1/4 inch wide im looking at that and cant for the life of me see were half or my hand is going? looks to me which maybe im not seeing it right is that at least 1 finger going to be dangling all alone of the end? for me being out in the woods and hunting i like to have all fingers on the handle for as much purchase on the knife as possible.

you are correct in that the pinky stands alone to wave in the wind, but i must say as small as it looks it fits the hand like it was born there. yes i know when you see the pictures its like man thats small but you wont even bleve how it fits the hand. that is why i did the complete handle shaping with no power tools, i wanted to get the handle perfect because i know that with a handle this small if it is not made right than it will not be useable. i would not hesatate to skin a dear with this thing. if you live close to utah you can stop by and try it out hehehe.

ok thanks, yep thatis what it was made for. i love fixed blades for every day use but i have never found one that is small enought for it. that is why i designed this the way i did

Unique design, looks good. Would have to hold it to see how it fits my meat hooks, but looks comfortable for a small knife.
