I've often wished I had a 'tough' knife with me at work for those little prying tasks that all know we shouldn't do with our knives... after seeing the folding Razel knives from CRKT for a while, I thought I'd give it a spin. the specs:
* Blade: Width: 0.923" (23 mm)
* Length: 2.0" (51 mm)
* Thickness: 0.13" (3.3 mm)
* Steel: 8Cr13MoV, 58-59 HRC
* Closed: Handle length: 3.25" (83 mm)
* Open: Overall length: 5.25" (133 mm)
* Weight: 4.4 oz. (125 g)
I always laughed when I saw 8Cr13Mov listed in the CRKT catalog as 'premium', but after having several knives with it (Summa, Tenacious) I've got to admit that it holds up pretty darned good. It's relatively easy to touch up, and holds a great edge for a decent amount of time.... so no complaints there.
Right out of the box I was impressed. the Ram's horn (?) scales are great (attractive and comfy) and the knife frame is bulky and solid. The open build is great for cleaning, and the knife sports jimping on the lower portion of the spine of the blade and the frame behind the pivot. There is also jimping on the inside of the frame lock. The frame lock itself is pretty hefty, and covers about 3/4 of the width of the blade. The pocket clip is... well.... tight, and is of a 'low ride' design that is very nice. The blade is thick at the spine with a hollow grind covering a little more than 1/2 of the blade. Both cutting edges of the blade were shaving sharp out of the box.
I gotta say, there is absolutely nothing not to like about this knife. The little point where the two cutting edges meet is great for detail cutting, and the two cutting edges are not too small to be of great utility. I've been carrying it quite a bit, and using it quite often, and not just for the 'hard use' things that I envisioned when I bought it. I am thoroughly impressed.
There is a contour on the frame lock that makes it hard to see in the picture, it is wider than it looks below.
