The Sunday Picture Show... (11-4-2012)

Hello everyone, it's time again for the Sunday Picture Show... This Show is for everyone... So feel free to talk about and compliment each other about there new or old Buck knives... We all like to show are new or older knives that we just got or had for years... So everyone please share and post a picture of one of your Buck knives or a picture with lots of Buck knives... Fixed blades or folders... Post all the pictures you want, but save some for next Sundays Picture Show... Post a new picture or a old picture... If you only have one Buck knife or alot of Buck knives... Just take some new Picture of it or of them and just get creative and make Buck Proud.... Thanks, ItsTooEarly ...

Here's my pictures for the SPS... This Sunday I have a 124 3 liner with a Black Micarta handle... I got this one, plus 10 others 100 series Buck Knives in a collection the other day... I got them all but the 122... That's why I couldn't buy any of the BCCI buildouts... Maybe next time...

Thanks for looking and enjoy the show... ITE

Sorry for no picture! But I could use your help. I am buying a 112 Ranger for my daughter's boyfriend, who just returned from Afghanistan where he was a dog handler - searching out and dismantling IED's. My daughter was a wreck while he was over there!

Thanks to you guys, I have been learning about these knives. I was thinking of trying to find a three dot since that was when the FG was first introduced. I am not sure what the handles or blades are for the three dot. Can anyone help me out?

Also, do you think the older FG is better than the new ones? He is "into" knives. Would he rather have an older one or a new one?

Thank you for your help.I am trying to keep this as a surprise.

Thanks for another SPS ITE!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I was very excited to recently add one of those older 124's to my pile of knives ITE. The paperwork is dated 1973 and it's NIB!!

I didn't expect to be back home this month, but Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc in the southern Appalachian Mountains and cut my hike short. I could handle the snow, but the trail was a mess with rhododendron tangles weighted down with the snow. I will go back another time. :)

Here is the knife I decided to carry with me on what was supposed to be a one month long trek....a Buck Lite Max 486. The first picture is the knife wedged behind a little ice and against some green rock tripe.

I like the 486 as a lightweight backpacking knife.:thumbup:

Here is my wildlife picture for the day from one of my backpacking trips....a buck caught with his pants down.

My Dad owned this bird knife for many years, he gave it to me several years ago.

Ok you 307 guys,

I have searched for this knife for 13 years, that is when I saw the only other one I have personally seen. I know of only one other. Only because of BCCI friend was I able to get my hands on this one. I will laugh if 5 people now pipe up and say they have one......likely ITE has one hidden out.......I know it is a collector thing, but this makes a guy happy for several days. 300Bucks

Paul Bunyan Special, made for SMKWs by Camillus thru Buck. Buck had the box made, received it from Cami and then shipped it to SMKWs. This one is #058, will have to look on some of Joe's lists to see how many were ACTUALLY made, but I will bet good money not very many.....

ITE, thanks again for keeping the SPS up & running.
No new knives lately, but I did have to grab this old stone. It doesn't appear to ever been used.

You're looking for this one.... The handles are Macassar Ebony wood and the blade is 440c.

Bought this around 1969 - 1970 when I bought my first Buck knife.

It has served me well:

When Bench Grinders Attack. Sometimes you just have to buy 'em the way you find 'em....
I wish people would take better care of stuff I'm going to own someday..... :(

Flea Market find...
The edge is a mess, but it came with a perfect sheath and had the pouch & compass but no grapel pins.

Sometimes it helps to sharpen the side of the blade also....

Double bevel done on a benchgrinder, machine ground edges are better, right?..... :(

One must need to live in California to find the pre factory stuff. Never seen any in Missouri. Nice knife Matt, what is the handle material?

It's made of Lignum Vitea and was found in Idaho. You just have to shake the right trees, and constantly look in the odd places. The hardest thing to do is ASK...
