ITE.... That is an awesome 401!

Nothing new this week, so here is a 271 S30V steel Alpha Dorado I frequently pocket carry, that I used to shave today ;)
Got as smooth of a shave as a quad blade razor :)

Thank you, Armand, for another chapter of the Greatest Show On Earth ;)
That's a great Kalinga you have. My small part is a rare find of a Buck
product in Germany, sold by te Buck sales rep in Germany: Herbertz.

Good morning all! Armand thanks again, and that is a gorgeous Kalinga. I guess working night shift does have its advantages. I get to post early on the SPS. :)

I lucked up on this 2007 Club 111 this week. It's got some pretty nice elk stag to it.

Good Sunday morning everyone!!

Armand…thanks!! You show up every Sunday like clock work and get the SPS up and running for everyone's enjoyment.:thumbup::thumbup:
And….you know I love that stag Kalinga!! :)

Chris…be careful or you'll take over oregon's top spot for "best originality" posts. :p

Herbert…always nice to see what you come up with each week!!:thumbup:

Michael….you know that needs to go into the "stag and ivory" thread….right?? :)
That is a beauty!!! Quite a collection of Buck knives you've got going.:thumbup:

This is the beginning of my Buck 110 50th anniversary knife collection.
I hope to add considerably to these 50th anniversary Buck knives when the quarterly 110's come available.

This a Reaper I just got . I will be removing the handles and doing a paracord wrap. If I get it done today I will post the results.

Odd couple.
Just got these at the end of the year, first choice was the 120 and 113 but they were out at that time so I settled with the 119 and 650.

Such beautiful cutlery photographed by artistic geniuses what a wonderful feast for my sore eyes this sleepy Sunday morning. Thank you members.

A 405, critter cam shot from Buck's Facebook and a small hawk in between varmint mangling runs.

Chris, you have exceeded even my excesses! Hail to the champ, hail and hail. If you were to ease it down you wouldn't be scaring the kids so much. I'm growing a beard now that I've seen your alternative. Yes I am. Uh huh. U betcha.

BTW, there are a few Buck belt buckles, in leather, with the hammer/bolt/knife imprint out there. Anybody have one they care to show?

Just because you show these exciting wildlife pictures I dig out the
leather Buck belt buckle I have. Amazing Pictures at all, Oregon. Amazing!!!

1/2 half a beer, not bad. You'll have the other half? Well then, the next chance
we have to have it together will come in the first half of May. I plan to come over the
big pond again to partake at the wedding celebrations of Cindy and Dave
in Florida. But Florida is as far away from Oregen as Germany from Forida.
Do you have an Idea? I want to spend two weeks in the USA and need some
ideas what to do in the time. After the celebrations I wanted to do a hike through
an interesting part of the U.S.A. Do you have some tips?

Happy Sunday Buck knife fans. Great show so far today. Those belt buckles are a fantastic addition to any Buck collection or just by themselves. I have a couple of them but now that I know there are more out there I am going to have to keep my eye's and ear's on high alert.

For this weeks addition I have another ivory knife to show. It started off as a 112 25th anniversary with blade etching which was customized with mammoth ivory scales and some great engraving on the nickel silver bolsters and some filework on the back of the blade and lock bar. I have no idea who did the work on this knife but they did a great job.

The last picture has some knives in the background that I posted in a new thread that was started this week under "SENTIMENTAL KNIVES". The story that I posted with them I also added to the bottom of this post. I hope all you Buck fans don't mind me showing them here along with their story. I did put the Buck 112 in the front and a couple gunstocks in the back. My 83 year old Father is a fantastic very accomplished hunter and gunsmith. He made the gunstocks and I do the refinishing on them for him and than he completes them.

Thanks again Armand for this weeks SPS and to everyone who posts to it.

From the thread "SENTIMENTAL KNIVES"

Here is a picture of some knives that could not be bought from me for any price. My Grandfather was born in Germany in 1900 and passed away in 1975 when I was 14 and just getting to know him. These are knives that were handmade by him during the 1940's and up to his passing. These knives are very interesting in that most of them have hidden in the scabbards some matches and firestarter which has than been sealed in wax only to be dug out in an emergency situation. The one in the picture that is just left of center at the bottom which has the name "JAMES" written in it was the only one he made especially for me and given to me just a couple months before his passing. he named it "The Dannel Boone" at least that is how he spelled it. And hidden in the wooden scabbard is 14 matches and 1 firestarter and has a sharpening stone on the back as well as a personal message. "With lots of good wishes to James from Grandpa G. Good hunting from John Gedlich 1974 Gales Creek Or. The others were given to me by my Father and my Uncle within the last few years. Just writing this and looking over these knives brings back good memories and tears to my eyes. I look forward to handing them down to my 3 boys someday. He made many others that are still in the hands of my father and uncle. He sure liked to paint them up. Looks almost Native American but he was 100% German.

I now have become a knife collector with well over 1000 in my collection and the only ones that I would never consider parting with at any price are the ones handmade by my Grandfather.

A special thank you for starting this thread and giving me the opportunity of posting a picture and sharing the story of my grandfathers knives.

My Sentimental knives.

Large to small: 916, 110, 112 and 501 all with buffalo.

Haebbie, early May here is a mud hole with rain and gray skies as far as you can see in all directions so not ideal for hiking. I have hiked everything and climbed the mountains in a wide radius, all done years ago he says as his old bones now murmur creaks and pops. The Columbia River Gorge, on the Washington State (Southern exposure) side has an endless supply of day hikes. You start at the river and hike up to 5k feet mtn tops. I'm certain that Dave and Cindy will put off the ceremony until September/October when it is hiking paradise in this neck of the woods: Base camp on Mt Rainier or Electric Peak in the Gallatin Range of the Rockies or Shoshone Geyser Basin in Yellowstone, for example. Ambitious stuff. Spectacular, however.

The 1/2 beer bit is from "Das Boot" or in English "The Boat" German WWII submarine movie. Must see for those with high spirits. Weren't you in that one? :)
