The Sunday Picture Show... (3-11-2012)

Hello everyone, it's time again for the Sunday Picture Show... This Show is for everyone... So feel free to talk about and compliment each other about there new or old Buck knives... We all like to show are new or older knives that we just got or had for years... So everyone please share and post a picture of one of your Buck knives or a picture with lots of Buck knives... Fixed blades or folders... Post all the pictures you want, but save some for next Sundays Picture Show... Post a new picture or a old picture... If you only have one Buck knife or alot of Buck knives... Just take some new Picture of it or of them and just get creative and make Buck Proud.... Thanks, ItsTooEarly ...

Here's my pictures for the SPS... This Sunday I got two buck knives... I have a 500* with a gold etch blade and a 313... Both could use a good cleaning... Maybe someday they will go to Leroy's and come back looking new!!! I got these two at the swap meet a few weeks ago for free... It's a long story... I got the 500 for $10 and the 313 for $5... Then I bought a combat KA-BAR knife for $10 that was like new with a sheath and I sold it for $25 to some knife guys I know and they also threw in two nice Buck sheath...

Thanks for looking and enjoy the show... ITE

500* and 313...

300 Education moment..........The 313

Armand and all,

The 313 Muskrat is 'versioned' only a couple of times. Made by Camillus a long time (72 - 97), they can still be found in mint condition.
You age them first by looking for the front tang stamp - Made In U.S.A. with 313 stamped on reverse. The second version is quickly known by only seeing one notch on the scales , on the front for the master blade only. The third version, has two notches, one in front and back for each blades finger nic's. Second and Third versions both have tang stamps - BUCK, 313, U.S.A.. Stamp letter size and shape may vary but have never been able to tie this to a particular version.

Scales are all black sawcut Delrin. Except for one yellow issue for SMKWs, very rare. Rumor has it some may have gotten out of Cami with serrated secondary blades but I have never found one or even seen a photo. I have seen only one with advertising - the stamped shield method. 300Bucks

The new LE 107 from BUCK. It's a great looking knife, and comes with the display. I was disappointed that the knife did not come with a proper box. It came only with the cardboard shipping box.

That's a beauty. I've seen the issue with no box in the past. I have two of the 100 year ivory 531's and the NRA Gen-5 that came the same way. The 531's came only with the wooden display box and the Gen-5 with only the stand for it. No LE box, just the shipping box.

peter...Love your engraving
HK...That 107 sure looks Fine
JB...Nice WBC112...

Here's a 110 I re-scaled with Shedua wood a little while back...
Hope I didn't ruin it's Collectability.....

Just thought I'd add to 300 great lesson on the 313, with a picture of the yellow 313 made for SMKW. Thanks again Craig

ITE....thanks yet again for getting another SPS up and runnin'!! I always look forward to seeing the knives everyone posts. :)

I see everyone else seems to be able to post their pictures today. I must have done something to my computer that is keeping me from posting pictures.

I've tried a number of times today and keep getting an invalid or an error message depending on how I try to insert the picture.

Oh well....nice show everyone!!

Pdave...thanx for sharing those Sawby's...I have yet to handle one but that model is up at the top of my hit list

ITE...that 500 was obviously carried and used...looks like those gold etchings are tougher than I thought. I've thought that having an etched user would be a pretty cool knife to have and actually keep using...maybe someday I'll find me a user too...

PlumberDv,

How does that Sawby lock work? I seem to remember reading they weren't made very long because there were some issues with the locking system. Or am I thinking of the Bucklock?

You're right, it was the Sawby. There are threads if you search, that gives all the details. As far as how it works, a picture is worth a bunch of words so here it is.
