Very nice finger groove dad! And that's rare to have one with that blade! Here are some of the 110's I have with the same just (50) blade! A green ecolite, a red Ecolite, a 110 and a finger groove 110! And I am super excited to announce that I am soon a lifetime member of the BCCI. I mailed her out last week and can't wait to start buying more Buck Knives!!!!!!!

I am still looking for the chairman series with that blade! That's going in the missing slot!

My lifetime membership!!!!!!

Armand…thanks for getting another SPS up and running!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
I like both of those 110's. :)

Herbert…I like your 110's too! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
A little late for strawberries here in Florida. Ours were ripe about February.
Nice pictures!

Congratulations Michigan Craig on becoming a life member!! (I hope your dad helped with the cost) :)
I didn't realize the Ecolites had that tang stamp. Now I have more 50th Anniversary knives to look for.

Neal…what can I say? Your stag 303 and 301 are beautiful!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Here is a knife I came across this week that I had forgotten about. Not only had I forgotten I had it, but I don't know anything about it and was hoping maybe Oklahoma Craig might see this and tell me what he knows about it.
It is a 301 and I'm guessing it's one of the early ones.
I like that it has what I think is a fairly rare tang stamps since all three blades are stamped…..and I like that it is in like new condition.

I took a 7,000 mile motorcycle ride last month and here is a bugger I ran across in New Mexico. He wouldn't come out for a better picture.

I have seen another 301 like that before. Can't wait to see its history! Here is a similar one!

Stumps,
My notes say the production for that 301 was from 1967 to 1971 and was the last of the 301s made by Schrade. For something different take a look at this. The secondary blades are stamped "BUCK" but on the wrong side.

Thanks Bert…so I'm guessing this is one of those that the blade rivets are inside the bolsters.
Anyway, I'm glad because it can go with my first year 301's for now. :)

Here is one that I got from Joe Houser a few years ago.
It is taking a trip to Canada tomorrow. :)
It is a 1965 Buck 110 1st Version/2nd Variation that the etch had worn off the blade. Joe had Leroy add another one in it's place and clean it up some.

Stumps, as Bertl has stated, your 301 is a second series Schrade (first series have the grooved bolsters although there are some first series that are not grooved) manufactured knife from approximately 67-71; switch to Camillus manufacture after that. And Bertl's knife, with the "Buck" stamp on the front rather than the reverse blade side, is most unusual; first one that I have seen.

Actually the first 301s were 1966-1967 with the grooved bolsters. Blade rivets were hidden and the Schrade construction made them almost impossible to repair. Buck tried fixing them for warranty work with a through rivet, but that was time consuming and ineffective. After trying that with about half a dozen or so knives Buck started just replacing them with a new knife. Here is one with the through rivet repair.

Thanks Bert and Tin Sue!!
I was aware of the earliest 301's and their problems, but didn't realize Buck contracted more than that first year with Schrade.
It makes me happy to have another early 301. I've had it several years and didn't realize it was a Schrade contract 301.

Here are the earliest 301's I have;

Stumps, Is that your 301K investment set.....

Everyone is correct, Let me bring it all together.......1) grooved bolster, 2)no groove, no BUCK on secondaries, 3) BUCK stamped on secondaries. Numbers 2 and 3 apply to Schrade made 303's also.

Old photo, with mistake statement on 301 stamped on reverse. Never was 301 or 303 stampd on any Schrade made Buck folders of the early era. Notice the wave like shape and the swedge extending over the long nail nic. That's is your quick ID indicators.

Now look at the early Camillus made 301s. Shape is straighter, Swedge does NOT extend over long nail nic. Early rivets tiny, second phase larger, third phase none.

The early 303 Schrade made Bucks, is what made me a 300 collector. When you say Buck pocket knife, they are what I think of....but you can't pry with them......

Happy Sunday to all and a special thank you to Armand for getting this episode of the Buck Sunday Picture Show up and running as usual. Just like clockwork.

Great pictures of some fantastic Buck Knives from everyone so far and lots of Sunday left for plenty more.

This week I have a Buck 929 Chuck Buck Signature Skinner from 1990 with mirror polished blade of 440-C with a nickel silver guard and sun bleached elk horn from Wyoming.

For a wildlife picture I set up a trail camera at the entrance into a 9.5 acre wooded area on part of my property and caught some pictures of a doe with a set of twins a couple days ago.

Awesome history lesson! Thanks 300! So the one I posted would be a #2 schrade made?

Thanks ITE for another great SPS

ITE, great looking pair of 50th 110s!

Really like seeing the old 300s:thumbup:. My Father carried an early 303 when I was growing up and retired it for a newer 303 a few years back. Great knives!

Today I want to share a cool little 426 that was sent back to Buck Knives and came back with a 50th 110 blade

Good Morning all, and thank you Armand for another SPS. Mark that is a beautiful 1st/2nd!
