Here's probably my favorite knife I have so far thanks to a friend here. This knife started the Buck custom shop. There are 3 different versions of this knife: the first 14 or so had the brass strip inlaid on the spine, 15 through 21 had the brass strip with rivets and the last 78 or so were glued on. This is the earliest version, #12.

Love the M9.

I added a few this week. I found a NIB Gen 5 at my local shop. I bought it for trade bait, but the more I handle it, the more I like it. I may not part with it any time soon. The handle fills my mitt much better than a 113, and I like the guard. It's Kalinga-esque.

I also found some time in the shop while it was raining Friday to resurrect a roughed up 110. She looked like she was dropped on gravel, then run over. This is my first Franken-Buck and I still have a little work to do on the Micarta since I ran out of abrasives.
I milled the rear bolsters off flush with the surface under the scales. Milled about 3/32 from each of the front bolsters. Added new linen Micarta after pinning it back together. What I have is a bare-headed, Micarta handled 110 that's almost 3/16" thinner than a standard 110. I have a little work left on the scales and need to make the pivot pin disappear on one side, and add a pocket clip. Not too shabby...

Skyler, not sure who told you about the last 70ish being glued, but look at the stag thread, #37/100 has 5 rivets....

I bought this one in '94 or '95. I had purchased a new gun safe and thought it needed some knives in it as well. I think this is the first Buck fixed blade that I purchased, and an early indication of the knife disease that was about to set in.

One of these days I'll come across one of these. Awesome

1/2 and 1/2 Salesman Sample 110 from back cover 1996 dealer catalog (many kind thanks Dustin & Dennis Creason) with "backwards" version built by Leroy Remer while at Buck (because Vern Taylor wanted it built that way). Backwards because the tang stamp is reverse of the "correct" one shown on the vintage catalog.

ITE, that model was used in the terrific action movie "The Professional" with Jean Reno as an Italian hit man. Film as art. Who said that "art is a dead language"? That film spoke to me, as many do, just as the knives here do as well. Beauty, struggle to make a living, a mark in life, to compete and to survive and last beyond your years.

Nice Buck knives gents! I need to find a Buck M-8 bayonet as I have nearly all the 20th century US Army bayonets except it and the M-6. I've no new Buck knives, but I dug this photo up for another thread over in traditional's, my only 302 Solitaire. OH

Great knives today everyone. Armand I have a few 188's but they are buried under a stack of other knives. I will try to get them out for a picture later today.

Here is a fairly new one for me. It is a Harley 903 bowie with mastodon handle scales. At first I thought maybe it was white micarta because it is so clear. It does have some light grain showing on the ends though.

When you sand or cut mastodon ivory it has a very bad odor to it so I sanded a back edge with some 2000 grit sandpaper and the odor was evident right away. Very stinky. It is for sure ivory. I than polished out the sandpaper marks.

That makes sense Skyler, I just finished eating at a KFC Buffet in NE, should get home around 6am tomorrow, I hope I have good pic from WY for next weeks show!!! Great knives so far, James, really nice handles on that 903, horse hooves smell a bit like Ivory, that's what popped in my head the first time I sanded a piece!

Not a knife for the show but a somewhat different Buck Knives product instead of a knife.

This 110 was a gift from my wife a few Christmas's ago. I used it this morning to peel some potatos, a few mnutes ago to break down some cardboard boxes and i will probably use it again today before i sleep tonight. Its just a plane jane 110, there are many like it, but this one is mine.

Looking good guys and gals just in case... keep them coming... James those handles are beautiful...

:)

Just spent 3 days at the local knife show. Here is one of the 7 knives I purchased. I have a gray Bucklite with the Workman logo but not one like this without. This one has an interesting 3-line box label giving the catalog number for both the knife and sheath. I've never seen a label like it.

One of the more interesting things to pass my table this weekend was 1991 White Corian Frontiersman with a mirror polished blade. I had never seen one outside of pictures...... very pretty. One of those deals where he was showing it around the show but was afraid to sell it or put a price on it not knowing what it was worth. I had no idea either, never seen one for sale. I went to the ATM that night to reload the wallet in case he came back the next day with a price in mind. :D The guy has my phone number so who knows.

Here is a small Buck countertop case. I've never seen one this small, it is only about 10" wide. Found this last month on the local Craigslist.
I'm thinking it is going on my dresser but have not decided what to put in it, Perhaps my Sterlings and Classics, they are small enough.
