I don't have anything new, spending all my focus on upcoming Buck seminar. So how about a two photo history preview snipit.

In 1985 Buck took over production of what I call the 'Big Four", the 301,303,309 and 305 from Camillus. Notice we are still being flat ground blade shaped. With that effort the knives changed to having a date code after the model number and a new shield style was tried (escutcheon plate). At the change in 1985 NO model number was added only the escutcheon plate change. With the next three years you will see the Buck escutcheon and a date code added after the model number. In 1989 a change back to the traditional knife, bolt and hammer escutcheon was made but a 'few' knives will be seen with the Buck shield. Most will be K,B and H shield with the 1989 V date code. A few more changes were in the near future but you will have to wait......

1985,86 < and 87 >.

How about the Duke 110

History:
The Buck Duke 110 was issued by Franklin Mint in 1997. The medallion in the handle has John Wayne's signature etched on it. Another Franklin Mint Bowie knife made by Buck, the model 902 bowie has the odd looking deer guard and was issued in 1999 (110 Dave and I have one of these knives and there are at least two threads on these unique 902 knives here on the Buck forum).

Here's a couple of new ones from last week. These aren't something that I would normally buy and if they were anything but a Buck, I wouldn't have. But... they are Buck's so I just had to have a couple of examples. :D

The Code 3 is a pretty cool knife and may see some use although according to one dealer, it's a "limited edition" because the Idaho stamp was only used for ONE year! ;)
