I was going to congratulate ITE on his beautiful 124's until I read they weren't his. :)

Here is an older picture of a couple of my 124's. I have owned the top one since 1984 when my wife (who had excellent taste) gave it to me for Christmas. It has never been used...only displayed.

Thanks ITE for getting another SPS up and running.

I'm off for a day hike on the Appalachian Trail. Looking forward to seeing what everyone posts here today when I get back from the hike!!

ITE,

What year is this 124?

Not the best photo by far but I'll add this pic of my burgundy micarta 124 to the SPS. I don't see a lot of these around.

Ever since I got hold of the carving knife from an old Empress Trio set, I've been on a quest for a full set. I found this set in maroon micarta complete with the wall hanging case. They aren't mint, but show little signs of use. This set will be hung on my wall over the kitchen counter be used. I also have a NIB set just like this set coming that will be put away. Now I need to find a set with the black micarta handles.

Last week there was mention of the Idaho date stamp. I only have four knives with that stamp.

Nutoknives,

What year is this 124?

Not Sure RickJ most of mine are late 60's early 70's learned this one was packaged in 122 nemo box but as some suggest there was a foil sticker that fell off somewhere along the line will dig through boxes and see if the paperwork has a date or not but I am sure someone will know before I even finish my coffee, checked paperwork date says 1/73on bottom left corner

Nutoknives,

Thanks for the reply, I think it is cool how your 124 (early 70's) looks just like the new 124LE except for the lanyard hole on your knife.

I'm back from a short seven mile hike on the Appalachian Trail. I actually walked from one road crossing to the next....where there just happened to be a restaurant that served up a fine sit-down breakfast. :)

Here is the knife that I took for a walk today;

I really like these stags!! :thumbup:

I saw the link to your Photobucket album at the bottom of this post and went over to take a look. All you have to do is post that link for the SPS....WOW!!! You have some beautiful knives!!

I really like that stamp myself and have quite a few of them. This one has to be my favorite though. The 121 is my favorite of the 100 series (barring the 124) and having the Idaho stamp makes it really cool to me.
