The other two 560's are coated at the factory with black paint and crystal anodize. The 111 has a BG-42 blade as does the polished 560. The 186 has a TiN Buckcote blade. The crystal 560 has a ZrN Buckcote blade. We call that one the "Champagne Buck". I think that the blade on the stealth 560 started out as a black painted blade. When the paint got chutted, it was buffed off.
The coat on the 186 is not as uniform as the one on buffed 560. The molding process leaves a skin on the Titanium which which does not lend itself to a uniform coat. Buffing the skin off gives better results. Anodizing the Titanium improves its resistance to scratching.

Tiguy7 - I see you have many knives with pocket clips. I answered a question Buck Bones (small) Screw Size yesterday. Maybe you could put a better aspect to the question. I have never done one but was a tool and diemaker and know the procedure. Thanks Tiguy7. Maybe explain why you put it on the blade side instead of the butt end. I believe this is the first time this person is going to tap ANYTHING and you know how that goes especially a 2/56 thread.

Morning gents, been a long time since I had anything new by Buck. Found this pre-dot Buck 110 on another website a couple of weeks ago, came in this past Monday. Cleaned up the edge somewhat - now it's sharp and the blade is nice and tight, it's going deep sea fishing with me tomorrow off the Outer Banks. OH

I prefer a tip down carry. I have had a couple tip up knives come open in my pocket. On the Buck 110 style knives, you only have to remove one rivet (blade pivot) to install the tip down clip. I do not like to tap blind holes in Titanium. A hand tapper helps as does a good tap lube. If I were actually tapping in this picture, the blade would be removed. Before I had a hand tapper, I used the chuck in the drill press to start my tap (power off).

I edc this discontinued small Ti Mayo sometimes but think I prefer the Vantage blade shape. It is very light in the pocket. But, does not flip easily. And it would be pricey to replace if lost. 300

Great SPS so far, thank you, ITE, for again gracing us with the opportunity to show are Buck knives. This is a 110 that I have showed before, it has a BG-42 blade and finger grooves by Leroy. Haven't used it much, but it will go fishing with me this next week and I'll report back on it's function. Preston001 (800x533).jpg

Happy Sunday! Thank to Armand for kicking this off and thanks to everyone showing off their Bucks.

Here's part of my Buck-tanium family. I have a Tiny Titanium and a couple of other 560s around here somewhere.
