The Sunday Picture Show... (8-5-2012)

Hello everyone, it's time again for the Sunday Picture Show... This Show is for everyone... So feel free to talk about and compliment each other about there new or old Buck knives... We all like to show are new or older knives that we just got or had for years... So everyone please share and post a picture of one of your Buck knives or a picture with lots of Buck knives... Fixed blades or folders... Post all the pictures you want, but save some for next Sundays Picture Show... Post a new picture or a old picture... If you only have one Buck knife or alot of Buck knives... Just take some new Picture of it or of them and just get creative and make Buck Proud.... Thanks, ItsTooEarly ...

Here's my pictures for the SPS... This Sunday I have two Buck CrossLocks and a Sweet Duff Stag handle folder... I got these from the swap meet a few weeks ago... One of the crosslocks is a 180SX Solitaire Black and green handle and the other one is a 180D3 with the camo pattern on the handle (RealTree)... And the other Stag handle knife is a Duff knife... I got the crosslocks for $10 each and the Duff for $20... It was a good day to be at the swap meet... I just don't know much about that Duff knife... Does anyone here know anything about it...

Thanks for looking and enjoy the show... ITE

Hi Armand,

Thank you for setting this show up every week with out fail! I love the old 180's, I use one for years as my main EDC.

I have been looking for a stag 301 for some time. One of the 2012 LE's this year is a B&C 301 and I found one at a great deal while out fishing ;). But, I have to say I have been having bad luck with the new LE's not meeting my expectations. This knife is fine, But, the seller used a different photo than the knife I was sent....so I was disappointed when I opened the box. However, the stag is fine, just not as nice as the sellers photo showed it to be (different knife). Hope you enjoy the photo's it's #32 of 250.

Oh, something I did not notice until I had this knife in hand. The stag & the Ironwood 2012 LEs have the B&C inlay 180 degrees off from the last B&C LEs?

jb,

If you come to Idaho next Aug., you and I will get the person who is in charge of stag scales and inlays and give them a piece of our minds......I am getting less of a piece everyday, but surely they could at least make the numbered (and costly) customs match sides better than they have for the last 15+ years......also my policy if buying vintage from computer, I always ask if photos are the actual knife.....buyer beware because you know it is likely not matching, even in the factory store.......

Hi Craig,

Yes I'm still not to old to learn lessons;). Funny, but, the sides not matching is not one of my pet peeves....this time....LOL. I guess I don't expect them too match any more:eek:. The stag on this one is not bad, but is not what I would pick if there were multiple knives on a table for me to pick from. The knife in the sellers auction was just what I would pick every time. I have not gotten what I expected from a few LEs this year and Buck made every one right for me (Thank you Buck). So, this knife I avoided buying from my dealer so I would see the knife before I pulled the trigger....and the seller did the old switch-a-roo on me:mad:. When I contacted the seller I asked why I did not get the knife in their photo....they just sent me a return slip and no comment at all. I don't want to return the knife, Just wanted to hear them explain what I already know.

Any way, here is the auction photo of the knife (They also failed to send me the gold bow from the box)

Here is the knife I was sent. (it was a steal of a deal)

The model 270 Alpha Dorado is a knife you don't often see customized. This is a 2008 buildout, 1 of 168. I assume the blades were leftovers from a 2007 special project. The 2007 dealer knife was a gold cutout with a ram horn handle.

Thanks ITE for being here each Sunday and getting the SPS up and running!!

Here is a new addition that I received this week....the 124 stag and mirror finish blade that came in a LE box and serialized stamped number. Very hard to get a decent photo with the mirror blade looking back atcha, but it is a beautiful knife in person. This was the best picture I could come up with.

Today I have two snake pictures. The first one is a snake I call the Clint Eastwood snake...a cottonmouth. Those buggers won't move for you. They just sit in the trail saying "Go ahead, make my day". I have to move them off the trail with my hiking sticks to get by.

This second snake I know nothing about. I've never seen anything like him before. I was at a limerock road crossing when I ran across him and he acted really upset that I stopped to take his picture. Anyone know what he is??

Here is another fine Buck I received this week....a mastodon ivory Sawby 531. (it was a good week!!) :)

Hard to tell as you pissed him off and he flattened his head out warning you. Could be a Water Moc, love his coloration, thanks for the photo's stumps. Hope you have your snake gators on as you take your hikes! Took a look at the hognosed photo's and the pissed off flattened head look is a dead ringer....none of them had the nice colors that your's has! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterodon_platirhinos

Wow, your 531 is awesome.....nice score!

About a week or so ago, I picked up a Buck 703 off the bay. It was marked as used, but when it got here, it looked like new except for some pocket wear. The blades look like they still have the factory edge, and look untouched. Unfortunately, the edges are very thick ground, and the edge on the sheepfoot is a little wavy. Still, it's probably the nicest multi blade Buck I've ever owned. I'll send it off for a good sharpening, and put it to some good use.

Made by Bill Duff, one of the founders of the old "Rigid Knife co". That knife was a steal at that price!
