Very nice 2 dot CHP Armand.

I'll post another old 2 dot 110.

This is one of the first Buck LE knives it's a deep etch called "Fisherman" from 1978. The original issue came with Ebony scales, this one has factory stag scales.

Great knives, Tom, JB!

I digged out a picture of the lager ones.

A nice Sunday for all.

Awesome knives, everyone.

I haven't noticed any 500's in the picture shows lately, so I'll start with these today. Maybe more later.

For today, a head scratcher....a JIGGED 309, it's either a knife someone put together a BUCK escutcheon on a worn Brown bone scale and added a visble spring rivet, with the wrong date stamped blade (88); or its a home grown jigged delrin scale, correct date escutcheon and blade. The escutcheon and blade date go together. But, correct Brown Bone 300s were from the late 90's and had no scale shield. Maybe we will just never know, and that's OK also. On close examination its just hard to believe that scale is polished black Delrin.

For you knife detectives: notice the brass rivet, regular BBones have no scale rivet, BBone limiteds have SS rivet. So you know its not a regular knife. Its either a old lunch break knife from the factory or someone is pretty decent in putting parts together and which ever it is they had to add a brass spring rivet to hold it all together. Another 'evidence' indicator of modification is the bolster pin slightly indented....

I give up and just call it an odd-ball. 300Bucks

Dave, those 500's are all beautiful... Great picture like always... I like that AZ one... Thanks for sharing with all of us on the SPS... ITE ...:thumbup::thumbup:

Because we started out with two dot, I have a two dot 112 that I got of the bay. The writeup said it had corrosion on the blade. I really wanted it because of the squared off bolsters and the scale wood and hoped to clean off the blade. When I got it it wasn't corrosion but more than likely electrical. That is what most folks at work thought. One guy even said "You want me to bring in my screwdriver?" I wouldn't have been the one honding the knife when this went off. I started working on it yesterday and it isn't ready for the "after" pictures yet.

You know, I've seen electrolysis damage to metals that looks just like that. I don't know how that would happen with a knife blade though.

The rest of the knife is in good shape and has cleaned up real well. Will show pictures later, more work to go.

My latest junk shop find, a Buck 301 with yellow handle and 1989 date code, still in the box..

Excellent work ITE keeping this supremely enjoyable thread going strong. Thank you kindly.

Brilliant cutlery and excellent photography everyone. Thank you for your contributions.

This Lapis Lazuli 110 has been in my mind for over a decade. Here it is in the flesh thanks to master stone artist Michael Hoover, Art in Stone, out of Fox Island, WA. Challenging for me to photograph as the light reflects off of the gold-colored iron pyrite in the pics while it makes the intensely blue stone look deeply golden rich in the hand. It could not be more perfect IMHO. WTG Mike!

And, many thanks to those wise and generous folk here who encouraged me to go forward in this satisfying project. You know who you are.
