For those of you who do not know the sad history of the 121 scaler, if you have one, DON'T flex it for filleting. This is why the scaler was discontinued and an intact one is fairly rare today.

These are probably my favorite Bucks: Early versions, 440C steel, the more tapered guards and micarta scales.

Some wooden ones for the Sunday Picture Show.

As I got to know the 118 with the wooden handle was never produced in series.

Best,
Haebbie

This is my five cents.
Pneumatic Gamo Hunter has velocity 360-380 m/sec with silencer, is not bad for crow-killing, not bad for rabbit-hunting and main training in shooting.
Caliber is 4,5 mm.
Russian optic scope VOMZ 4x42 is good for the powerful return recoil impulse.
The rifle weight is 6 kg.

My first Buck was back in 1974, a 501 and second knife back then was a 110. I never collected the 112 until I got the WalMart Christmas special 112 probably around 2005 or so. After I got it, I thought, wow the 112 is not a bad knife. Sure the 110 is neat, but the 112 to me is neat too.

Here are my 6 112's from top to bottom:

1. 112 with a 450 blade, so I guess it is not a real 112. Joe Houser had it at the SMKW meeting last month and I got it. You will notice the blade is different and different is good for a collector.

2. A 112 with finger grooves.

3. The WalMart special that started it all, the only one with a nylon sheath.

4. The 112 that was on the special sale page last week, I just got this Friday.

5. A stag 112 with nickel silver bolsters.

6. A 112 with elk, it has 440C steel and was on the special sale page at Buck last year.

Lite: 443 ounces, 125.5 grams

Very grippable: Diamond textured sides, index finger choil on the handle, large swollen butt to the handle and clever thickness swell to the handle about 3/4 toward the pivot beds the thumb in the forward grip and the little finger in the reverse grip.

My fingers can go all the way around the handle. Finally, a knife that is big enough (as well as being thoughtfully designed and executed for those with Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey paws). Way to go Buck and thank you ITE for putting this model under my nose and for this terrific thread. You are all right.

Here's my new 112 buildout from the Web Specials page on Buck's website.

It's cool, but in all honesty I wish it had a more useable blade like S30V or even 420HC. All in all though, it's a beautiful knife.

Very cool 110 Armand. Do you know who did the inlays?

Heart-stopping cutlery. Brilliantly photographed. WOW! Thanks a million for sharing. May you live for a thousand years. My new desktop score******

Hi all,

I love the SPS threads, so many fantastic Buck knives to look at and enjoy!.

First up is a set of Geronimo Daggers, one of each type made (note the round handle version only 250 of these were made)

There have been a few threads where the Buck special offer build out knives were talked about, so here is a few shots of BO knives. 196 chipflint, burl wood (left over blades from the Timberlake issue) and a 279 with eagle cutout and white scales.

Then there is a thread talking about a 100 year 119. I have a 100 YR cutout 119 that I had not taken any good...well, ok photo's of. This knife has Palm wood handles and a gold colored cutout (this knife is hard to put in a display because the Buck stands I use makes it a 001 knife;) )

One more new one. This is the Web Specials 118 with the Palmwood handle. It makes a nice little brother to my Palmwood Kalinga.
