The Sunday Picture Show... (9-7-2014)

Hello everyone, it's time again for the Sunday Picture Show... This Show is for everyone... So feel free to talk about and compliment each other about there new or old Buck knives... We all like to show are new or older knives that we just got or had for years... So everyone please share and post a picture of one of your Buck knives or a picture with lots of Buck knives... Fixed blades or folders... Post all the pictures you want, but save some for next Sundays Picture Show... Post a new picture or a old picture... If you only have one Buck knife or alot of Buck knives... Just take some new Picture of it or of them and just get creative and make Buck Proud... Thanks, ItsTooEarly ...

Here's my pictures for the SPS... This Sunday I have some Blades that I got from the bay and swap meet

and one from Andy T... I believe most of these are from a salesman sample kit... They would have been

glued or taped to a piece of fiberglass...

Thanks for looking and enjoy the show... ITE

Rattlesnake blade came from Andy...

Good Sunday morning everyone!

Thank you Armand for getting the SPS started each week.:thumbup::thumbup:

I remember you talking about the difficulty you had acquiring that 112 rattler blade.
Here's what the rest of that knife looks like.

I posted photos of my 48 current 50th Anniversary 110 Buck knives last Sunday.

Well, thanks to the generosity of Craig "Cvovilla", I now have 49 50th Anniversary Buck 110's.

This was one that I didn't have, so I was very grateful to receive it! Thanks Craig!!:thumbup::thumbup:
It is a "50/USA" Plum Paperstone.
Now I am down to needing just the two 50th Anniversary Buck 110's in my signature to complete my collection to this point.

I still have two Lochsa's coming this month and three of the BCCI 110's coming in December…so it should make a nice display.

Sorry everyone….but I'm up early this morning and just sitting back enjoying my coffee and posting photos on The Greatest Show On Earth! (Right Herbert?) :)

oregon posted a Buck salesman sample in a separate thread earlier this week.
These aren't salesman samples, but they are clear handles that let you see just how the Buck 110 and 112's work behind the scenes.
These are all done by Leroy.

Thank you again Armand for the Greatest Show On Earth.
Stumps the depth of your collection as usual is a surprise to me, as always fantastic.
My addition for this week is a couple of old photos, all I have found of late is a nice 2 dot 110 from a gun show but no way to load new photos at work.
a modified 112

a 112 2005 that I have been trying to keep from using, I haven't carried a 112 FG.

Good early morning everyone and thank you Armand for another SPS. I love those blades! Mark that is a remarkable 50th collection you got.

I am proud to show my contribution to the SPS this week. I have been searching for this Buck for over a year and finally landed it this week. It's the 1996 Club Knife, the 110DM Stag with Damascus blade and medallion.

Great Knives again everyone! Here's mine for this week, Buck 916 Bowie from March 2007, 181 of 250. Was brand new in box, blade still in cardboard sleeve.

Morning gents, great show Armand has started for us this Sunday morning. I went fishing on Friday off the Atlantic coast (out of Morehead City NC), I took my Buck 121 with me to clean the fish - however the captain has a crew that cleaned them while we were loading our gear; cleaned and packaged in a jiffy - didn't get to use my Buck 121 (but it was nice not to be all smelly for the ride home!) OH

Stumps, I have a question for you - can the Lexan handled knives be used? Are they stout enough to hold up? Very cool. OH

Nice Kings and Dolphin? You will be eating well. :)

I would think the answer to your question is yes. I think the clear handle might get scratched some, but then again maybe not. Leroy told me some of those were made with bullet proof glass.
He told me how to tell, but I don't remember anymore. That was quite a while ago.
I thought about putting one into my edc rotation, but decided against it. I love the lightweight of the knives, but I have other lightweight 110's that I already use.

Here are a few photos about questions brought up in another thread within the last several weeks. The different variations of the titanium 560.
I added a couple other titanium Buck knives I have also….a 186 and a 565.

I see the crystal titanium 560 I chose for the picture has a 110 blade in it. I should have looked closer before taking the photos because I know I have other crystal titanium knives with the 560 blade.

Okay….I'm done posting pictures today. I am going to sit back and enjoy what others post on today's SPS. :)

Happy SPS to all of you. Those are some beautiful Bucks guys. Congrats to you all. My humble addition for today is this 111 I picked up at a local pawn shop the other day. Came with the correct, marked sheath but no box or paperwork. I've got a lot of knives, several hundred just in Bucks and I can say without a doubt this is the absolute sharpest of any knife I have ever purchased bar none. I'm pretty sure it's still the factory edge and I have done nothing with it but it is truly "scary sharp".

Thanks Armand for getting this all started again this week.

I am amazed at the great knives you all have and great pictures everyone. I really look forward to seeing all the great Buck Knives that are put on the Sunday Picture Show each and every week and the information on them. Thanks to all of you who post.

This week I have a Buck 532 single bolster with white mother of pearl scales on black paper trim. This is the only one I have seen with single bolsters. The pearl has quite a rainbow of colors which is hard to capture in the photo's

That is sweet!! (Don't forget to add that one to the stag and ivory thread) :)

Love the variety on here today…keep 'em coming!:thumbup::thumbup:

I am in fast company here as usual. Thank you all for your efforts photographing and displaying your terrific Buck cutlery. What a treat for my sore eyes. :)

Two 110 user bullet proof glass folders from Leroy shown with a 505 Salesman Sample 1/2 and half.

I remember following the Salesman Sample knives that would appear on the forum and auction site with fascination for years. The fragility of them kept me at arm's length because was not worthy of owning such a historic piece years ago. So Leroy and I hashed out building something similar out of scrap bullet proof glass, his brother supplied the scraps, along with used 110 parts from years gone past. Leroy shot gun tested the bullet proof glass with stellar results so he went ahead with confidence. The steps involved for these is daunting and just to hear him relate what is involved you will need a pillow for your head. Notice that the BP users have polished edges and that they are clear thru and thru sporting a slightly blue tint when viewed at some angles.

The 505 Salesman Sample is so tiny, unpolished edged on the acrylic scale and proud pins (the last two features are hallmarks of the Salesman Sample). I plan to take it to OKCA this Spring and see if Leroy remembers making it and possibly have a story or two about Salesman Sample knives.

ITE kindly tells me that the first SS had only one scale and were open on the other side. Buyer's cut themselves with this model so a clear scale was added to that side creating the 1/2 and half. Finally, came the clear thru and thru model of the Salesman Sample. BTW, if you ever get the opportunity to speak with Armand on the phone jump at it and don't hesitate. Besides being a genius and a fine figure of a man he knows way too much about a great many things, particularly cutlery, so he can whip you into a frenzy, lay to rest false legends and explain your haunting questions of your own knives. Just try to get a word in edgewise and you might miss a gem of information. Please package lectures on Buck knives ITE and attach them to the forum. Pretty please!

Wildlife:

The elusive and kinda wacky Green Heron. I am always looking for this swamp bird but rarely seeing it. I got lucky here and got a few telephoto shots of this accordion neck heron. The first photo shows evidence that it is the dry time here and the second photo shows where the remainder of the pics came from:

For the enthusiasts among you, you know who you are, a video of the bird acting like it has had a few:
