Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This is my very FIRST Buck knife. I purchased this knife about 1987 at Service Merchandise, a catalog display showroom. $11 or $12 sticks in my mind. I had not seen it for awhile and have not carried it in years as I had eventually become a fan of the pocket clip. Still have the original sheath which I can't recall using much, it has lived out most of its life in a toolbox drawer. My customary carry for this knife was vertically in my back pocket next to the wallet. I think the condition of the blade is remarkable given how much I used it. Fish, rabbits, and squirrels have been cleaned as well as a zillion boxes and envelopes opened. The steel would be 425m and holds an edge very well. I don't recall having resharpened it very many times. Of interest is the unusual date code with the dot >. I hold the belief the dot indicated the blade was fine blanked.

This week is a 2-fer. I've shown my first Buck knife above. Moving forward many years to 2011, this is my second Buck knife and the one that started me on my journey of collecting Buck knives. I was a collector of CO2 and pneumatic pellet guns and was always on the hunt at gun shows. I came across this knife at a show and it caught my attention because the handle resembled the plastic handle on my only other knife, the 422 Bucklite. Not really a knife person and knew nothing about Buck knives or date codes, did not even know the second blade was removable. Wanting to know more about the knife I started researching on line and became intrigued with the world of Buck knives. Joined Blade Forum and have been hanging out here ever since. Something of Interest that I did not realize until taking pictures tonight, the 1989 428 Selector is marked "Bucklite" on the handle. The 1990 428 Selector shown below it is actually marked "Selector".

A few 110's, a 3 - fer. Can't tell the date? No Date Codes, Dymondwood scales. The Macassar Ebony was used from 1964-1993, then dymondwood from 1993 to 2019 and used Taylor guitar crelicam ebony from 2019 'til the present.

Happy Easter to all.
Thanks Roger for another Sunday Picture Show. Thanks also to all who post photos and comments.
This is my first Buck knife, a 118, bought at the PX in 1969 or 1970. Great knife, now retired and replaced with the Lucite handled 118.

Happy Easter to the Buck family!
The 426 at the top was in my father's things I got after he passed away. He had quite a few hunting knives, but this was his only Buck.
The 112 at the bottom was my first Buck many years ago.
Thanks everyone for keeping SPS going!

A couple of my favorite Bucks. The top 110 is a 3-dot factory high polished blade. Was once in the Vern Taylor collection.
The other is a factory 1988 pinless stag 110.
Some beautiful Buck knives this morning. Some awesome picture taking!

Concerning the blade with the unique circular stamp. That blade was used on the 110 Founders Edition, a 2007 issue sold thru WalMart that came in a tin. I have seen 2006 quoted also. The WalMart version had Hoyt's signature etched on the blade which your's does not.

The "Custom/Anvil" tang stamps were used on custom knives starting in 2002 with no date code. It is one of the aggravating things about customs making them difficult to date unless you had the original box or other outside information.
