Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

On This Day, February 1st, 1968, South Vietnamese police chief Nguyễn Ngọc Loan executes Viet Cong captain Nguyễn Văn Lém.
Lém was a captain in the Viet Cong. He and his wife lived as undercover arms traffickers in Saigon, trading tires as a front business. Loan was the chief of the Republic of Vietnam National Police and a brigadier general of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. The photograph was taken by Associated Press photojournalist Eddie Adams. Published extensively in the news, it would win Adams the 1969 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography and the 1968 World Press Photo of the Year. Video of the incident can be found on YouTube if you care to look. Lem was captured near a site where the family of South Vietnamese officer Nguyen Tuan was found murdered. It is suggested that Loan executed Lem for the murder of the officer and his family. Shot 3 times, a 9 year old boy survived. That boy grew up to become an officer in the United States Navy. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, Loan emigrated to the United States. He never escaped the stigma of the portrayal in that image and the photographer Adams regretted the negative effect the image had on Loans Life. There was an attempt to deport him for a war crime ln 1978 but President Carter intervened.
