Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

Here is a really cool fact, Willis Carrier received a US patent for the world's first air conditioner on January 2nd, 1906.

A recent conversation with bucksway bucksway reminded me of this knife in my collection which motivated me to go find it. A 976 Buck Dagger with Ivory handle and Stingray sheath. I picked this up at a knife show about 4 years ago. I believe these dagger blades did originate in the Custom Shop for the Geronimo project but this knife customization did not. I was given the name of the maker on the back of a business card at the time I purchased it and stuck it in my wallet. Unfortunately that wallet accidentally went thru the washing machine and the information was lost.

I learned a few things about Stingrays. They are a cartilaginous fish like sharks. There are 220 species and can be farmed for the meat in the "wings" and the dorsal hides sent to a tannery. Though abundant, unregulated fishing does threaten some. The dorsal surface is covered in calcium beads as a kind of armor, The ornamental "eye" is actally painted on after tanning around the larger beads in the center.

Australian zookeeper and television personality Steve Irwin died after being accidentally pierced in the heart by a stingray barb while filming in the Great Barrier Reef. One of two deaths reported in Australia since WWII so a rare incident.

simply great, Roger!!

Roger, that dagger and sheath are fantastic! That definitely qualifies as a "grail".

It was -2* here yesterday morning, and about 5 when I took this picture for the show... trying to think warm thoughts. This is a Buck 208 Koji fixed blade from 2005.

Thank you for another Sunday Picture Show, Roger. Happy New Year to you and all the Buck brothers who post and comment in the Buck Sub Forum.
I haven't posted this Bob Timberlake 192 in a while so...

The West Virginia Mountaineers did not prevail against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the 2021 Guaranteed Rate Bowl. They West Virginia Mountaineers do have a wonderful Aurum gold etched knife with blue felt presentation box. The 1987 date stamp is a little different.

Another great Sunday Picture Show with some awesome Buck knives! What better to look at on a cold morning when it is -6*.

Here's a picture of my Buck Vanguard in ATS-34 made in '02, the 100 year anniversary of Buck knives.
