Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)
Lady Godiva as painted in c. 1897 by John Collier

This day in History July 10th , 1040. Lady Godiva rides nude thru the streets of Coventry, England. As near as I can figure the event was more folklore than truth. Lady Godiva was a real Anglo Saxon Noblewoman whose husband was the Earl of Mercia. The story goes something like in her protesting her husbands heavy taxation of his subjects he quipped that he would lower taxes when she rode naked thru the streets of Coventry. Holding him to his word, she did so. Townspeople were instructed to shutter their windows and not look. Actual written telling of the event do not appear until the 13th century so two centuries later. An interesting side note is that later retelling of the event in the 17th century gave rise to the term "Peeping Tom". I find it interesting that a date and year is assigned on the "This day in History" website if the event did not really happen.

2022 is the 50th anniversary of the 112 Ranger (1972-2022). As I reported last week, Buck offered some very nice Samber Stag knives in the 2006-2007 Catalogs. This 112 with a nickel silver frame was offered in the 2007 catalog.
