Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

The first "official" Bugs Bunny cartoon is "A Wild Hare", released on July 27, 1940. While earlier cartoons featured a rabbit character that would evolve into Bugs, "A Wild Hare" is where he's fully formed with his familiar design, voice (including the "What's up, doc?" catchphrase), and personality.

The model 308 Canoe, a limited production for AG Russell Knives and documented on the Special Projects list in 2009. A USA made Canoe and produced in 3 variations of 250 each. My Stag (0308STSAG) is shown below. The other variations were Mammoth Ivory, and Black Pearl. The 308 Canoe is unique in that the 2 blades are each a different steel. The Sheepsfoot blade is S30V steel and bears Chuck Buck's signature. The Spearpoint blade is CPM154 and has AG Russell's signature. My pictures do not do this little gem justice and I wish I had the other 2. The knife came in a very oversized foam lined leatherette box. Additionally, there was a buildout of (70) Mammoth Ivory knives (0308BO-B). I Believe these were blems with minor issues such as cracking around the rivets.

Thank you Roger for the serious History lesson and for doing the Sunday Picture Show. Bugs gave Mickey a run for his money. Here are some 560’s to which I have added pocket clips, thumb studs, and premium blades. The one on the left, I jimped the rocker and skinnied up the scales to make the knife 3/8” thick (was 7/16”).IMG_3738.png

The heat lately has me thinking of cooler weather; Buck's in the snow. OH

That's funny OH. Our granddaughter & husband-to-be were up here in PA for her bridal shower yesterday. It was 90 degrees & very humid here, and we were all suffering from the heat, but they were still wearing jeans & boots at 2 in the afternoon, because they hadn't warmed up yet.:) They live on the edge of the Low Country in SC, so what we call hot & humid is different from their hot & humid.

Anyway, here's my pic for this Sunday's show:

Thanks for the SPS again. The Elmer and Bugs cartoon is very fitting for my mood. Like others I’m ready for cooler weather. I’m hoping to get a little time in the squirrel woods this coming fall. Last year was a bust because of legs. So I’ll just post my mini alpha because I like it on squirrel outings.IMG_0383.jpegIMG_0274.jpeg

I have always loved the Looney Tunes characters. When I was young my parents took my brother and I to a them park in Gurnee, Illinois called Six Flags Great America. Unlike Disney’s Mickey Mouse, it had Looney Tunes based characters and we loved every minute of it!
