Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

On this day July 2, 1881 The Assassination of President Garfield.
The 20th President and just months into his Presidency he was shot by Charles Guiteau at the railroad station in Washington D.C. Garfield lived for another 79 days dying on September 19 from sepsis. Guiteau was a real nut job and had an insane notion of importance in his own mind had been annoyingly pressing for a diplomatic posting. He borrowed $15 and purchased a revolver. The revolver was donated to the Smithsonian but has gone missing to history. Guiteau constantly insulted his defense team. He was ultimately hung. His brain is on display at the Museum of the College of Physicians in Philadelphia. If you have nothing better to do, read the Wiki article on Guiteau to see what a nut job he really was. I was curious about Presidential security. After the Civil War about 1/3 of currency in circulation was counterfeit and the Secret Service was formed in 1865 to combat that. The Secret Service started providing Presidential protection after the assassination of McKinley in 1901.

A 105 Pathfinder with micarta spacers this week circa 1969-1972. The time frame for this knife is bracketed by the change from bone hard fiber to micarta spacers in 1969 and the addition of the model number in 1972. A nice specimen with box I'm pleased to have in my collection
