Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This Day in History - March 5, 1770 The Boston Massacre
(engraving by Paul Revere)
"The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770, on King Street in Boston. It began as a street brawl between American colonists and a lone British soldier, but quickly escalated to a chaotic, bloody slaughter. The conflict energized anti-British sentiment and paved the way for the American Revolution." (History.com)

This week I have a set of 1989 Sambar Stag slip joint pocket knives. 1989-1990 is a transitional period as the 300's move from crinked blades sharing a spring to a spring for each blade and from brass liners to 1 piece nickel silver frames. There are 3 configurations to watch for during this period.
1) brass liners, crinked blades
2) transitional configuration, brass liners with one spring per blade
3) current configuration, nickel silver frame with 1 spring per blade
All of the knives I show here have brass liners. The 301/309 have crinked blades and the 303/305 have 1 spring per blade

Collectors Challenge. The Jigged Brown Bones span this transitional period and can be found in all 3 configurations. 4 knives X 3 variations equals a 12 knife Grand Slam. I've lost track but think I'm needing to find one of the 309's to complete.

Hello Everyone,
I have a custom Sambar Stag conversion, Buck Auto 110, that is everything I desire in an auto knife, I was so happy when I received it.. It has so many nice features like a mosaic firing button, a 50th Anniversary 110 blade, Mirror polished blade, a filed spine and blade, and the Sambar Stag scales are beautiful. It fires with authority, which I like. All in all it is a favorite of mine. I press the blade release and the blade drops free, this without any wobble.

Nice knife.
Somebody has some talent.

Good Morning to All on this fine Sunday Morning. No stag handles in my collection. My contribution to the show, a 680 I recently picked up for fifteen bucks at a local gun show. I do not think the box is correct.

Two of my favorite things: Buck Auto Ranger and a Stetson Royal Deluxe St. Regis homburg, probably from the 1940s, maybe 1950s.
A lot of men say they don't feel comfortable wearing a hat but I figure the neighbors aren't thinking about me when they get dressed so what do I care?

Thank You Very Much GPyro, My father was a Photographer with 35mm B&W. He would just be so happy with digital photography. We had a darkroom in the basement and he would develop the film there. As a youngster I would go in there with him and he had a special light so as not to expose the film. He also had an enlarger to blow up pictures. I miss the Father/ Son connection that we bonded over. He taught me much about lighting. I believe the knowledge stuck with me. Thank You Dad!

I posted this photo not long ago, but the stag fits with todays stag theme. There is a difference in appearance between stage that is trimmed to fit from the backside and stag that is beveled on the front side. In addition, stag that is beveled from the front tends to be thicker.

Good Sunday Morning! Here’s my 300s from top to bottom. 319, 301, 303, 301, 301 only one of which is stag- sold to me by a costal gentleman. Sure wish Buck would do more 300 series offerings but I guess modern is where the money is.
