Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

On this Day, May 19th 1883, William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody opened Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show in Omaha, Nebraska.
A good read about the show can be found here.

What better way to celebrate the 141st anniversary of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show than knives with Buffalo horn handles.
Buck has had an extensive offering of (Asian Water?) Buffalo horn over the years. Let's have a Buffalo horn show.

Here is the model 919 "SLINNER" (check out the spelling on the box label)
Jigged Buffalo horn handle with Bocote wood trim. 1 of 23 from a web special offering in 2019.
The 919 was introduced about 2012 as the Jim Cabela's Skinner. Other variations that I know of are Stag, Rosewood, and Black Paperstone.

Bocote is a fairly rare tree growing in the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.
The wood is characterized by an unusual beautiful texture with brown-black stains in the general background.

Thanks once again for the SPS!
Here's my 919 from a web-blast a few years back.
Ironwood handle.
The blade on these are pretty thick for a small knife. I think they would give you all the confidence you could require if you were to use it while hunting.

Thanks.

Since we are between Omaha and North Platte, Nebraska, everyone is familar with Buffalo Bill. He also had a ranch in North Platte. It is now a State Historial Site. Not too far off I-80, if you are passing thru and want to visit.

The buffalo horn and mammoth tooth 110 came courtesy of Mr. Remer. Great show, everyone, and some awesome Bucks.

Happy SPS to One and All,

Thank you Roger for hosting the shows each week, and thank you to each of you who post photos or add to the conversations!

The folding Alpha is from Larry's list and completed my jigged buffalo LE set.
