Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

C Chilebrown The handles of your 110 are Buffalo horn and the bolster is color case hardened by Doug Turnbull Restorations in upstate New York. I'm going to get into a side story here. In 1957 Doug Turnbull's father Terry Turnbull and his wife Joan opened a gun shop in upstate New York, Bloomfield I believe, called Creekside Gun Shop. It must have been one of the largest gun shops in the state... a real destination gunshop. I remember my older brother dragging me along on his many trips there in the 1960's. I'll have to ask my brother but I think he said it was eventually done in by somewhat unfair targeted enforcement actions because of their size. A divorce may have been thrown in the mix also. OK, I digress, Terry Turnbull, the father, spent a lifetime studying the chemistry of and learning to recreate all of the historical coler case hardening and bluing techniques. I bet his sons firearms restoration skills were passed down from his father. On a personal note, we have a custom Winchester family heirloom that was restored by the father and is currently on loan to and displayed in the NRA museum.

Good morning. Thanks again for hosting, Roger! I wrote a paper about the Scopes Monkey Trial in 9th grade. Many of the issues debated in that trial are still front and center in our country to this day. On another note, thanks for sharing the story of the Creekside Gun Shop. I wish I could time travel back to see the inventory they had in their gun and knife displays in the 1960s. And what the prices were…IMG_3165.jpegIMG_3171.jpeg
