Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)
November 27 is the 331st day of the year. Only 27 more shopping days to pick up those Buck knives for Christmas gifts. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. I've traveled to have Thanksgiving with my brothers. I'm sure many interesting things happened on this date in history but I'm in vacation mode so keep scrolling and enjoy the rest of the show.
This week I am showing a few of my 700 series pocket knives. They follow the same blade pattern as the Camillus 300 series except they are a bit heftier with a blockier profile. They are originally listed as having stainless steel frames, changing to nickel silver in the 1987 catalog. The blades are hollow ground, I'm away from my notes but I think the 300 series were not hollow ground until about 1996 or 1997. Top down are the 705 Pony, 709 Yearling, 704 Maverick, 703 Colt, and 701 (Mustang) Bronco. Oddly, the 701 is introduced as the Mustang in the 1981 catalog but is renamed the Bronco in 1983. If anyone can explain that please share. See my post #13 below for a catalog timeline.
