Hello all,

It seems that there is a bit of rumor flying about with regards to the Super Commander. I wanted to take a minute to lay those rumors to rest.

The Super Commander project IS going as planned albeit a bit slower than anticipated due to September 11th.

Josh and Patric at Triple Aught Design are going to have the first 200 of this knife as an exclusive. No telling where the project will lead after the first 200 but the guys at TAD do have the exclusive on the first 200.

There will be 150 with black handles and black blades. An additional 50 will be hard chromed with green handles. They will be serialized and feature unique TAD logos on the reverse of the blade.

It is a very cool knife. As a matter of fact, the knife that I win for closing our #3 gripper is going to be a Super Commander!! :p

Hopefully, we will have a prototype before too much longer so y'all can see what is forthcoming. You know that is in Emerson Time so...

Derek, that sounds great thanks for the update!
I look forward to seeing the prototype, as I have one on order from TAD.
BTW don't forget the old school thick liners and scales!;)

Take your time guys, I'd rather have it "awesome" than "fast."

(Sitting quietly and patiently, secure in the knowledge that my CN/OD is reserved.)
:D

Derek,

Thanks for the update on this - the Super Commander should be awesome so take your time and do it right!!!

So you have done the #3 - what are your plans for the #4?

Regards,

Ed
Still working up to #2.....

aww jeeze--anoher Commander i gotta get? and i thought the Regular Commander was the ultimate!
yee ha, can't wait!

Man......All you guys have Commanders! This one will be my first (If I can swing it when TAD charges my card ) Jeez, I have 5 customs with one on the way, and I'm wondering if I'll be in position to swing a Super Commander. The Nature of The Beast! :D

This is just what I'd love to own, great news. $369 though - ouch! For this I assume it will have thicker liners and scales. What do you guys think of the "newer" construction technique? It seems it would be easier to make but I rather like the old way better - the same as the customs are held together.

Cheers

Peter

Derek,

I saw that you stated in your initial post that there was no telling what will become of the project after the first run of 200. Is there a possibility that this will become a standard product for EKI. Black handle w/ Satin blade?
