I had a tree in my yard crack recently and it was leaning over my driveway.

The easy thing to do would have been to go and grab the chainsaw. Instead I grabbed my user BWM and my brand new Rodent 9. The Bark River hatchet was just in case but never got used.

I started chopping and found that the inside of the tree was completely hollow. I took turns with the BWM and Rodent and had it down in about 10 minutes.

Once I had it down I needed to get it into more manageable pieces AND I still needed to test out the Rodent so I started chopping.

Fast forward a couple of hours and the score is Major Kong-1 Tree-0.

Overall impressions: The Rodent 9 feels great in the hand and actually grips better (IMHO) than the BWM. The BWM is still a better chopper though and will probably keep it's place as my favorite user.

I always love an excuse to get out different knives and compare them. As far as the handles go, I am curious how big your hands are?

My hands are pretty average sized. I wear a size 10 in my nomex flight gloves, but I'm not sure how that translates into non-military sizes.

very cool pic's, thank's for sharing. was it just the weight factor that made the bwm chop better? also how did the finger nock in the r-9 feel when pushing foward on the grip?

I'm really not sure. It may have just been the familiarity with the blade and the swing of it. I'm sure the extra length had a little to do with it as well.

As far as the Rodent, I like the finger notch and actually found it more secure in the hand than my BWM.
