I learned about Das Schwert: Gestalt und Gedanke / The Sword: Form and Thought from a sword maker who told me about it after a long conversation about sword harmonics and proportions. The book is the only writing I've seen that addresses the true nature of sword "balance," proportion, and motion. I wanted to get ahold of a copy for my birthday, having seen a few for sale for only 50-75 bucks from Europe, but a few months later, couldn't find a single copy for sale!
