Built this more than a year ago (I think over 2 years ago) for my son who serves on a boarding team in the USCG. Custom kydex sheath fitted to his Safariland duty rig for his SIG P229. I made a jig for the mounting holes to match up to the holes that already exist on the Safariland holster thigh plate. Fits perfectly in that spot and he's carried it everyday since, whenever he is on duty.

Finally home on leave so I had a chance to get a few pics.

It carries his Spyderco Enuff. H1 steel with Black scales. Spyderco normally makes the H1 Enuff with Yellow scales and the VG-10 Enuff with Black scales. I wanted him to have the H1 for the salt environment and the scales had to be black to get signed off on by the Chief for duty use. SO, I bought one of each and switched the black scales onto the H1 version.

Onto the Enuff. Well, having been used daily for the past year at minimum, the knife has held up extremely well. My sons claims it cuts everything he needs and more. Countless lines have been cut with it and he says the blade has never failed him. As you can see, after a year or two on the coast and in the Gulf and Atlantic on countless occasions, the knife shows ZERO rust. An outstanding blade for salt environments.

Here's the pics.

I like that Ronnie! Very nice sheath. Does he complain about the lining on the Safariland holster holding moisture against his pistol?

Man, I wish I was still making knives. I have a cool pattern I'd love for him to try!

The leather liner IS weird since he's on the coast 24/7 but it's a stock Safariland rig. Since he was at a small boat station (only 30 guys total) he had lots of quals and jobs. He's certified armorer on the P229, Remington 870, and M4 (duty weapons) and everything up to the big 70mm cannons. He can break that P229 down and clean it in about 20 minutes. LOL

Thanks for the compliment. I'm VERY proud that my gear has been used by my own son while on duty. Not sure if you knew this but I have quite a few sheaths over in the sandbox with our troops. A few Marines and Army. Had a few dads ask me to build for their sons when getting deployed and a few enlisted with custom tactical requests. I never advertise that much and never charge the active duty guys, because that is not why I do those. I probably shouldn't post that here but what the hell. I'm proud to build for those guys and glad I can send a few of them some hard use gear at no charge.

I would LOVE to get a custom made in H1 for him to use. I've never heard of a custom maker who works in H1. I have designs already, just need a maker to build it.

You'll come up with something once you get back in the saddle.

Thanks again my friend.
