Here it is...a picture of The Team Leader! This is "One BIG knife!" That "little" blade is 4.25" long!

From my understanding, only 250 were ever produced. A detailed description is of this knife is at http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum55/HTML/000048.html .

Let me know what you think!

Ron,

Bring it back to production with AUS8A or BG-42. There is nothing like it out right now.

Perhaps just re-release it as a limited run/edition version again. It would be nice to see an upgraded version of this one. I'm guessing there is no pocket clip? The handle looks quite thick, maybe a clip is not feasable?

Thank You Ron!

I know I had a picture of the knife in one of my books, but I didn't find it.

My vote: bring it back as it was. SK-5 tool steel, SF-logo.

Why? Because if you improve it it's going to be a different knife. As you said it is a piece of SOG history. keep it that way.

I'll buy one.

Greetings

I think that maybe one of the reasons why it may have failed was because of the knife's blade steel that was originally used, but if you use a better steel such as BG-42 or another high grade steel, it will do well IMHO.

What kind of steel is SK-5? Not familiar with that one.

I remember that knife! I only handled one and never used one, but it was a nice knife. I would say that it probably didn't sell that well because it was a CHUNK. Very heavy for a folder. Certainly not an every day carry unless you wear suspenders (or braces for our English friends). That being said, a limited run would probably sell, especially with some modern influences. How about a Team Leader with a thumb stud and Arc-Lock?
