I needed several photos from a few different locations around the water here. The day started out at the lake before sunrise.

Then I headed up a creek for a ways to look for some other things.

Lots of poison Ivy

Then topping a bit of a rise I found I was not the only one shooting photos at that creek. I wandered into a photo shoot that involved one guy with a camera, two girls, and four bikinis. Just enough pics to avoid the “pics-or-it-didn’t-happen” 

Thanks guys, it was an interesting day in general.

Then the day got much better when I stopped by RMJ to see John and left with the Talon I have been wanting for almost two years :)

Awesome pictures. Strange events in the wilds there, and then a sweet axe to top it off. Pun intended.

Fun day there Mist. A gawk and a Hawk
:D

I burned a picture of that poison ivy in my head ( among other things)
Keep forgetting what it looks like . I don't think we have it here in the west , but better safe than sorry.

Hey mistwalker - great pictures as always.

One of the Elderberries (Sambucus spp.)?

I really like that axe/hawk. Looks like a pretty sweet piece of gear.
I have never seen a mouse outside of within 50 feet of my house, other than when I shot a deer and they went up to it laying down.

Looks like an.. interesting day, to say the least. Thanks for the pics.

LOL....that's awesome...did ya post the rest of the pics on Whine and cheese !!!!

Reminds me of one of my threads from a year or so back when I stumbled on a bunch of naked bodies....only difference was mine were a bunch of fat gay men layed around a lake.....just my luck, you get the chicks and poor old Pit just gets images that scar him for life !!!!

Strange day indeed, and I agree!

God help me, I like that hawk more than the women. Great thread.

Then maybe he should help me too, because me too. I've seen a lot of thongs and a lot of pretty naked butt over the last several years, but I have been waiting on that hawk for 2 years !

Lol, that's funny

Yeah, I think you guys have poison oak though. Must be nice to live in a place where it doesn't grow. I'm not severely allergic to it but I'm not sure about Alayna yet so I worry when I have her in the woods with me. Her mother isn't allergic to it at all though so hopefully she isn't.

Thanks Doc, I appreciate that!

I love it, much better edge geometry for working with wood than my Shrike, and more handle for more leverage too.

We have quite a few field mice in this area.

Yeah, an interesting day indeed.

Nah, I only snapped pics of the one bikini change to prove it happened, and even if I had kept them I wouldn't have known how how to go about hosting them to post in W&C.

I guess I'm a little odd...but while the girls were nice and all, they're not exactly the first pretty nude bodies I've seen or photographed. I was more interested in figuring out what lens the guy was using, if he was using a filter, and studying how he was dealing with the bright sunlight and the high amount of reflectivity off of the girl's pale skin. Two of the girls who have volunteered to help me with my website have pale skin...and yes the website is going to be family friendly.

great pics as always..I really enjoy urs and pitdog's threads!!!

Thank you, glad you enjoy the posts!

Fantastic pics! That's a really pretty knife too :)

Thanks Andrew. I agree, I fell in love with that knife at first sight early Friday morning at Blade !

The Talon, that's the one I wanted! Moose and I talked about last night and I could remember what model it was. What's an Empress tree?

Wait a minute? Your hiking buddy?? ;)

Thanks for sharing proof that spring is here.

Gotta admit that I lust after a RMJ hawk, even if I haven't a clue what I'd do with one.
Bluebells coming on strong this week, a bit to your south. Getting off-trail in the wrong place is about to get painful, too.

Crap. This thread's from 2011 :(

Mist,
You have enviable talent with a camera but some pictures are best not taken ;)

I have to agreee, I like the pic of the hawk much better than the 'kinis.

Bill

Ha. Reminds me of the time that a buddy and I were hiking into a backcountry climb in Red Rocks, just outside of Las Vegas. We came up over a rise in the middle of nowhere, and there was a naked guy and girl, posing, while another woman took pics. Full-on professional shoot with light reflectors on tripods and the whole deal. My buddy and I were dumbfounded, but they acted like it happened everyday. We played on through and when we got out of earshot, fell on the ground laughing our @$$es off.
