As some of you know, I peddle knives on eBay to support my collecting habit. I've noticed something unusual lately: Four out of the last six Schrades (modern OT and UH) have been purchased by women. All the same story, basically: "Dad (boyfriend, husband) lost his favorite old Schrade and he can't find another one." I had one request, an 'off-ebay' sale for a 124UH and the wife was willing to pay ANYTHING for it. No guys, I didn't gouge her on the price, just charged what the last one on Ebay had sold for.

Women are the more thoughtful gender. Buy the one in your life some flowers, huh?

And guys... You are on your honor.. No emails to me pretending to be your wife, seeking to replace her hubby's long lost Uh at a bargain price!

You are right, you know, getting home with a little something for someone every once in a while is a nice common custom in my home, like I may find a cigar on my night table or I may leave a simple silver ring on hers, and we also get and give from/to my daughters, my older girl often comes home with something sweet to eat, my younger one is more of a crafter (maybe because she doesn't have a good paying job LOL), my wife and I may get them some simple jewelery or a CD.

I have three women at home, I have to live with all that :D.

My wife and I have a standing agreement. I buy knives for her, the kids and myself. And she buys clothes for her, the kids and myself. Occasionally I will force her to go buy something special for herself, and she forces me to buy a new knife. I don't complain about too many pairs of shoes in her closet, and she hasn't yet complained about the number of Schrades hidden in drawers, the gun cabinet, top of the closet and in the box underneath my desk. All this may change soon, however, as I have display cases coming. My secrets will be revealed and there for her to see and count as I admire them. Well, at least I'll be wearing the Schrade shirts she made me buy last week and my Schrade Proud American hat.
