After having tested this one, I'm seriously contemplating modding the clip on mine to be like this one haze modded.

The 9 wears the new coating well, still not a fan of the texture of it but it looks sweet. That Clipped 9 looks pretty beast too.
 
Honestly i prefer the old coating and stamp. The stamp just looks more "grown-up" and the new rough coating is grabby and scratches stuff. plus i dont like that a simple cotton rag isnt good enough to clean the blade because the textured coating catches it and holds lint all on it. Plus if your not careful when stropping, if your angle is off a little, the coating cuts into the leather on the stop. All these problems are easily avoidable or correctable but still i prefer the good old style.

But the new coating looks great anyway :)

Yup, for use I'll take the old style over the new any day, plus when you strip it you get that cool little stamped logo with paint down in it to give it some contrast. And as for the super aggressive texture all I can say is that the new coating and balsam sap or pine tar; do not make a fun cleanup.
