For a $35 shipped knife, the construction is impeccable. Shaving sharp out of the box, good, solid lockup, fantastic ergos. It feels every bit as solid as my random leek. I don't find the flipper mechanism to be particularly useful, but it may loosen up. It takes me a good flick of the forearm to open it up. Detent is good, thumb stud is large and easy to use. Did i mention the handle is great? Beefy and substantial feeling. True to it's designer:

You are off to a good start! Now get the Hyper and M Type and you will be set! Also look at the Subcom but I like the Hyper better! Better yet just get all 3 and you will have a good collection! Enjoy the Trance! It is one of the Best knives for the money!! Kevin

I've got the same knife. I like it too, it's pretty small, thin and light. The blade does have a pretty substantial look to it. I bought mine because I wanted to put a custom maple scale on it but I realized that the scale is recessed with the liner so now I don't know what to do.

glad to hear your first purchase!!!! the knife itch will continue :P

just make sure you oil this baby, mine has some spot rusts.
