OP was the "black hole of INFI" yesterday. He is impressive in action.

Hopefully he will have left something when I go tomorrow!

Actually the biggest combat was during a quiet time - most hogs gone browsing off and mysteriously a SILENT KNIGHT started slipping out of paper - the freenzy was instense - they had more room. The card flew - guyes went for it - collision JAX and OP, OP on the ground on top of the card. Too bad he had no $$$ - I just had to take it off his hands... Gues who gets whatever she wants for Christmas this year!!!! This is after he was promisiing to exercise some restraint! He says he got hurt for less gain before - "NO REGRETS"

Oh, that is just too funny. Jerry is evil/sneaky in that way. As I said in another thread, there is no dignity in the trough. I can just imagine what passers-by must have thought....

Noob question: What is Jerry throwing?

I guess there have been a few problems with the stampeeds when Jerry just puts the knives on the table and first come first serves them. So he takes the "tactical cardboard sheath" from each knife, and flips them into the crowd...the person to catch the cardboard gets first chance to buy the knife.

I want to make it to Blade in a couple of years when I won't be so worried about my munchkins slicing their cute little fingers off, and I'm already in training. I have the wife fling the cardboard sheaths at me and the kids, and we all battle over who gets them. I'm also trying to set up some kind of net or glove or something...I've had some success hooking a dustbuster up to a big cone so I can suck all the little cards in. Where's Tim the ToolMan when you need him?

I got in the first day probably after the first 150 people and still got to the front of the table. I heard that last year was worse but this year was thick at times. This year though looks like Jerry had double the space to work with.

Thanks!!

Last year he started by passing out the knives and a few people "thought they were free" and walked away with a Busse. No one actually made it out of the convention hall but they didn't want that to happen again, then Jerry started throwing the cardboard sheath.

This year, no blades were handed out, he was throwing a cardboard sheath with a pencil taped inside and a tag where you put your payment information on the outside, so once you grab the tag, you fill it out, take it to the booth and pick up your knife.

If Jerry had multiple knives, he brought out one display model and a stack of the tags and started passing out/throwing them in to the crowd.
