The true blade length of a CQC7 ???

I owned a mini CQC 7 and the actual blade length from the edge of the handle to the tip of the blade was 2.9 inches. That is exactly what was called out on their website. However my Emerson journeyman measures 3.6 inches from the tip of the blade to the rear end of the cutting edge. The actual blade length of the journeyman is around 3.8 inches. However the website calls out 3.6 inches as the blade length.

So with all of those inconsistencies I don't know whether to trust the specs on Emerson's website for the regular size CQC 7. Can anyone confirm the actual blade length of a full size CQC 7 please?

Some measure from tip to the end of the cutting edge, some measure from tip to scale, and some even measure actual length of the cutting edge to include the angles of a tanto and the arcs of a recurve. If it fits what you like, get it.

They seriously need to fire the person who publishes their specs on their website. The website has a great design, but the one thing that is extremely weird and always makes me question the legitimacy of the company is the random choice of which specs to post for a knife. Most people I try to turn on to Emerson also get a lot of doubt based off of the website specs...or lack of. Sometimes none are posted at all. but you already knew that. It's just weird.

Yeah the EKI web site is wrong about several blade lengths, look at the commander models, the jungle handle regular commanders are .4 inches smaller than the regular handle ones haha. Idk why it's like this, but I really like the EKI site looks great. Google your knife and do a bit of research to determine the length or ask for a side by side photo here.

Blade length seems to be one area where companies allow for the most tolerances. I doubt that +/- .200 is uncommon between any manufacturer.

If you think this is isolated to EKI then you are sadly mistaken.

.2 inches is massive, I think .02 or even .002 is more within the realm of possibility. I don't think EKI knives are shorter or longer than they should be by any noticeable length when you get them, due to the way their produced their all almost exactly the same. What I'm saying, and what I think OP is saying is that the EKI website says a bunch of different lengths for the same knife that aren't accurate.

Got it. I was under the impression that the OP was mad because his knife was .2 longer than the specs on the website and that someone needed to be fired because of it and I was just trying to set his mind at ease.

I honestly don't know what the tolerance regarding blade length is for EKI, but I have seen this exact same topic brought up in other manufacturers forums, which leads me to believe that quite a few others also allow for wide open tols.

You do realize that .002 or even .02 can be wiped out depending on who is doing the sharpening that day?

my cqc 7v has a total cutting edge of 79mm, straight portion of the cutting edge is 63mm. Inches get confusing sometimes lol.

.2 Inch is almost 1/4 Inch that is .250, or just 1/4".

3.3"
Get one.

Mines 3.4 inches, im sorry you got a small one :D

Exactly no manufactures knives are gonna vary that much from each other of the same model unless their hand made.

Fair enough, but can we agree that a .100 variation is possible?

ETA: I just measured the blade of my mini cqc-7 from the tip to the edge of the handle.

2.75" oal. This represents a .150 difference than the 2.9 of the op's mini.

Looks like we are getting closer to that .200!
