This is model number 762 (the 7 denotes genuine mother of pearl) with the larger 5&1/2 inch blade. It was also available in a 4&1/2 inch blade. Very rare, and the queen of my extensive collection of antique Union Cut Co. and KA-BAR fixed blade knives. These were the only factory made hunting knives with pearl handles made by any company. Enjoy the photos!!

Cool! I'm first on the passaround list! Can't wait to check this one out! ;) :D

Seriously, there's some nice looking fire in that MOP. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Chris, it's from the mid-late 1920s and the name in the catalog was "FAITHFUL". They were also available in bone stag and stag over the period of production. Sadly I didn't get a sheath with this one, and haven't found a proper sheath in as good condition as the knife.

Keep looking for the sheath, sooner or later one will turn up. I see ratty knives occasionally with really nice sheaths, and vise-versa.

I have probably 200 Union Cut and KA-BAR antique hunting knives, have had the pictured one for 15 years, go to a lot of knife shows, watch ebay, and still haven't found the proper sheath. It isn't a real common model and a rare length, and many of the early knives had sheaths that were knife-specific so any old KA-BAR sheath would be incorrect even if it fit the blade length. I am still looking though.

Wow. I never knew anything like this existed. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a couple of shots of the smaller 4&1/2" blade 762 with the rare optional fancy sheath. Thanks guys for the compliments on the big one!! This one's not mint like it's big brother, but still one beautiful knife!!

And here's a more worn 4&1/2 incher which is an early one with the model numbers on the guard. It also has a faint etch of the original purchaser's name. Union Cut/KA-BAR would do personalized or company name etches quite often.
