the truth about hinderer

as some of you may know, I got my first xm in febuary 2013, getting it was quite the adventure. it was an xm-24, a month later i bought another one, an xm-18. the reasoning for me behind getting an xm-24 was because i saw xm's as rough, tough overbuilt knives which would withstand a good beating, i figured it would be no good as an edc and something like a sebenza would be much for suited for edc tasks. therefor i bought the biggest of the family. Once i got the xm-24 and even more so the xm-18, it became clear how wrong I was. in my opinion, now, there is no knife, that is more suited for use in a wide variety of roles. i was going to say it's a jack of all trades. However, the saying goes "jack of trades, master of none" in the case of the xm's, the saying should be master of all.
my edc is my xm-18 now, and after carrying it every single day for the last 5 months, i can say that for me it is the only knife i'd ever need(that is not to say i won't buy other hinderers;p). there are a lot of other knife makers, which make outstanding products, a whole bunch of brands who make excellent production blades, but for me, none of those come anywhere near the level of the hinderers.
It is not just about the design, or the materials, or the fit and finish, it is about everything about it. everytime i gaze upon my xm, i am awe-inspired by the level of skill which was put into making this knife. not only that, but it cuts like the best. just today, i cut some bamboo with it, even pieces of an inch thick were chopped off with a flick of my knife.
the xm is not the best knife, it's the only knife! thank you rick and rob for making these wonderfull knives

I think he likes it.

I would agree with you!

I have never owned a Hinderer, but not because I don't want to. It's because I will not pay a huge secondary market premium. They are great knives, but I will wait until the prices come down to get one. I am sure they are nice, I will get one eventually and then I might post a glowing review also:thumbup:

I bought an XM 18 and an XM 24 about 6 months ago and I could not agree more. I own tons of knives, most production knives but a growing number of hand made knives, and my favorite is the XM 18. Getting to meet Rick and his gang last Saturday just made me love the knives even more. I was lucky and was able to get mine at list.

Sorry, I am on so many forums that I forget which allow price and which don't. I won't mention price again. And how about a bad pic?

That'll have to do but next time you step out of line we'll expect a Patek & three XM customs, you have been warned!

On a serious note nice pic, there's a lot to like there.
