as some of you may know, I got my first xm in febuary 2013, getting it was quite the adventure. it was an xm-24, a month later i bought another one, an xm-18. the reasoning for me behind getting an xm-24 was because i saw xm's as rough, tough overbuilt knives which would withstand a good beating, i figured it would be no good as an edc and something like a sebenza would be much for suited for edc tasks. therefor i bought the biggest of the family. Once i got the xm-24 and even more so the xm-18, it became clear how wrong I was. in my opinion, now, there is no knife, that is more suited for use in a wide variety of roles. i was going to say it's a jack of all trades. However, the saying goes "jack of trades, master of none" in the case of the xm's, the saying should be master of all.
my edc is my xm-18 now, and after carrying it every single day for the last 5 months, i can say that for me it is the only knife i'd ever need(that is not to say i won't buy other hinderers;p). there are a lot of other knife makers, which make outstanding products, a whole bunch of brands who make excellent production blades, but for me, none of those come anywhere near the level of the hinderers.
It is not just about the design, or the materials, or the fit and finish, it is about everything about it. everytime i gaze upon my xm, i am awe-inspired by the level of skill which was put into making this knife. not only that, but it cuts like the best. just today, i cut some bamboo with it, even pieces of an inch thick were chopped off with a flick of my knife.
the xm is not the best knife, it's the only knife! thank you rick and rob for making these wonderfull knives
