Every once in awhile, Tom and I talk on the phone about whether folks on here really understand we are kidding.

We're Kidding!

You can safely assume anything I say about Tom or his knives is in jest. I'd like to say that is also true of what Tom posts, but I'll let him comment to that.

In my personal and honest opinion, Tom Mayo is one of the finest people and most gifted knifemakers I know. We are very good friends, and what we do and say here is intended for entertainment purposes only.

Darrel, one of the nice things about getting old is that you no longer have to take yourself too seriously, and can take some kidding without offense.

Now that I think about it, that's maybe the ONLY nice thing about getting old.

Took some reading in the shop talk threads to figure it out. I guess the good part about getting in the middle of this good nature banter, is that it forced me over here to read more.

Now, you two get back to good nature sniping of each other. But, if Tom pulls his auto, let me get out of the way, okay...

Neil, ask Tom. If he wants to do one, he can send me the blank and I will grind the blade for free. I assume you mean the hollow ground tanto point.

This would be a little like that scene in Alien where the creature crawls out of the guy's chest. Tom's nifty folder and my nasty blade.

everything considered....NOTHING is free... Jerry might grind the blade for no charge, but thats just the beginning of a long trail of me owing him for the rest of my life... we better make sure he gets compensated... Im sure $5 will cover his effort.
 
Hah, I figured it out!! It's a ploy, a ploy I tell ya. They keep making these jokes figuring all the rest of us will be in here readin and laughin so hard we won't be able to hit our shops and grind blades. It's a ploy to corner the hand made knife market!! Yeah, but we gotcha now, we got both of yas.
