Part of my recent large order, a Farmcata by Anil. While the blade work is pure perfection, the handle details were not up to snuff with my likes. Yes, I know I'm a perfectionist and the Kami's don't have that amount of time at their leisure. This is simply a Farmcata untouched besides about six hours on the horn handle. It's perfectly tapered for my grip, fit, finished and perfectly to my liking.

Nice. I have yet to score one of those. Worthy of keeping on a display pillow. [emoji3]

Very nice. Did you have to reshape the horn, or just polish it up? If you reshaped it, I'm curious what tools you used. I figure files + sandpaper would work, but I've never actually tried it with horn.

I bet you could cut a beer bottle in half with that one. All in the reflexes.

David,
Slightly rehaped. Horn is so very easy to work. Flat, tapered and round needle files. 400-1500 grit paper, Semichrome, white rouge and then some good wax, Renaissance in my case. Sounds way more intensive than it is. Easier than working with most woods, far more forgivable.

Sosa,
A beer bottle, no problem even with poor reflexes.

Your new bed buddy is gorgeous. BWB (blades with benefits) or more serious?

I've been wondering how to shine up my horn that got too close to a tripoli wheel.... it was perfect when I got it....

I dont know what semichrome is but I have white (platinum) rouge - hopefully thats the same.

Semichrome = Flitz = Iosso metal polish, or at least close enough to substitute. I use Renaissance Wax or a good clear Bowling alley wax, usually Lundmark's. Hard, wears well with excellent protection.

i get my simichrome online (amazon has it) note spelling is simi...... not semi..... if you are googling ;)
a tube lasts for quite a while, use sparingly. good stuff.

I used to use Simichrome a lot but haven't been able to find it for many years. I never thought to look on line.

I've been using Flitz. Seems very similar but I'll goggle a tube of Simichrome when I get low.

It does go a long way.
