Kershaw, ZT, Al Mar, Case, GEC, Queen, Spartan, Leatherman, AG Russell, Randall, Dozier,...........There are literally thousands of knife companies. Are you including ones that are no longer in business? I don't think you realize how enormous this list would be.
 
A handful more for the list: Northwoods, Viper, Anza, Kingdom Armory, William Henry, L.T. Wright, TOPS, Enzo, Boye, Kizer.

Oh, and of course such a list is impossible. For example, what exactly is a "brand" vs. an individual maker? For example, what if a customer maker has a line of midtechs that are widely available? Are they eligible for the list? What if they have only one midtech?
 
I wish you lots of luck, it'll take a lot of work and commitment on your end to insure the lists stay current and accurate. Like RevDevil said, there's list already here just have to search.

Also just like Ken said, good luck getting members to agree on any of those lists. I truly wish you the best of luck but being an old timer here, I've tried many different lists and bottom line is if you want a current list you'll have to monitor your thread religiously.

i thought it would be good, but i think i will make a list of links to go to... haha, that way, all of us that are new, can search for it easily
 
That right there will be an education in itself and a heck of a project. I wish you luck and now I'm subscribed so I'll be checking back every now and then to see how you're getting along. :thumbup:
 
Moki and G Sakai should be on the list.

Also, Klotzli, Puma and TFW (Traditional Filipino Weapons) should also all be in there.

I keep remembering more, M. Nieto, Aitor, Muela all from Spain.

Can't believe I missed that Opinel isn't on there. And they're the second biggest in the world. Also Fantoni and Nilte.

im totally a list nut, so this may be fun. I'll probably add some top fives or top lists once i get a chance.

Also, i love people's inputs. so maybe i'll make a tally too or a google doc...
 
You could go gold and post polls, it'll help support BFC and give you some perks available only to gold and above, like posting polls.
