Hey all,

As a little backstory, I thought I would share some of my experience over the past two years. It goes a little something like this: Got out of school, started working for one of the Big Four Accounting firms (AKA Abusive Employer) and had been doing so until I was set free back into society about six months ago. So during that time of working 75 -105 hours a week during busy times and 55-65 hours during slow times, I was also studying for the CPA exam, which happens to be an immense four-part hellish exam itself. Anyhow, I am not bitching or moaning at all, it was a great experience and wouldn't change it for anything, but I am using this as the rationale and background for what I am purchasing, in process.

I am currently poised to pass and finish the last exam in a little more than two weeks. Why am i so sure of passing you might ask?.. because i have studied as much as a streetwalker turns tricks. Anyhow, I have been contemplating a giant party or weekend with the guys, going out getting wasted, and wasting some money here or there on gambling and so forth.

Rather than waste my money on something like that, I decided to look for and buy a celebratory self-gift. I am purchasing a Micarta Sebbie with a ladder Damascus blade, which is going to bring me so much joy for however long I have it!!!! I can't wait!!! I am even going to wrap it up in wrapping paper and not touch it until I take my exam.

Anyone else make a similar CRK purchases lately?

Yes... yes I have... (well, do orders count? I havent actually paid anything yet...)
Due to a recent personal accomplishment I ordered 4 knives direct from CRK (large and small dual lug snakewood sebbie, snakewood mnandi, large double lug micarta insingo) and will be ordering 2 more from a dealer (Ti-Lock, and a professional soldier, going out for a Krein Regrind)

Yes, its a lot of CRK's, but due to the grand nature of my accomplishment I feel it justified (I also have some doziers on order, and will be grabbing a set from Luke Swenson as soon as the first check arrives).

Well, Congrats!!! An accomplishment deserves to be recognized, and to be honest, i havent had a knife that has lost all of its value, ever. So its not a bad way to treat yourself. Less cost than boozing and parties, although those are you fun.

Ordered my very first Small Sebenza Insingo from KnifeArt this past Friday night. Can't wait until Wednesday or Thursday when the Fedex man brings it!
