In a snow storm, this is it. A metal snow shovel. 25 years old and still the #1 tool to dig out. Yes, snow blowers and plows make quick work, but in my situation, this tool saved my ass.

Here are a few more pics. I'd say between the 2 back to back storms, there is close to 50" of snow on the ground.

Scott,
living here in the U.P. of Michigan I carry an old coal shovel with us everywhere. We average close to 150 inches of snow a year.

damn i wish we got snow like that here! back in 2006 we got a foot of snow that stuck around that winter was record setting i belive

Amazing all that snow and lately we've had a bad heat wave. There has been some relief with cooler temps.

I bet that beat the hell out of your back! There is always a snow shovel in the back of pickup during winter :)

Extreme winter, extreme summer. :(

Can't wait for August :D.

Was a mild Winter here in the north, and had some heat, but it isn't god awful like earlier in the summer.... of course it did snow on top of Mt Washington yesterday... yup, snow on the 1st of July.

Weather is just plain weird these days.
