Phil and I have been looking for this knife for a while.
We have the flyer and a pouch/sheath for the knife so we just need to find the knife. Its the last of the custom series that Schrade was working on.
Here is what it looks like. Anyone else have one?

Just figured I'd bring this one back up to the top. Thats a really neat looking knife. Larry, what kind of information do you have on the knife already. I've never seen one before.

Steve Jernigan was the last knifemaker to do a collaboration with Schrade.. and remember ya'll, Schrade was the first, with Bob Loveless (the PH1 and variants).

I call it the 'knife that never was'. Larry got me curious about it and I found Mr. Jernigan asked him. Only one made, he told me, by Schrade engineers, the ones used for the ad work. He had no idea what happened to it.

Word has just come to me recently that the knife mentioned above is back in Mr. Jernigan's hands. Someone found it at the factory.

Here is a photo of a very similar knife, handmade by Mr. Jernigan, on the cover of KNIVES 93.

Larry, would you consider putting these photos and perhaps a photo of the zipped Jernigan case and maybe the ad fllyer on the photo site?

Gee I thought you'se guys were just kidding!!
Well, as I guess you may have heard there is only one(authorized, legal to own) 1933 Dbl Eagle and you know what it sold for at auction....

I believe the one in the photoshoot was made by Steve Jernigan. The "tang stamp" was edited in on the photo. When Schrade had a large layoff in December 2003, the knife disappeared. It ended up in Steve's hands, I believe he bought it somewhere.

If there ever was more than one Schrade/Jernigan.....I'd bet even money Del has one.

Does this mean that if I had three, and I destroyed two, it would make the remaining one more valuable? I'll have to think about this.:D

Phil,
Glad to you popped in here. I printed a picture from the flyer and made a cutout for the pouch and the picture. So I guess I have the 2nd one of the Jernigans. Like Lt's Alamo Bowie it lives in our hearts.
I have a small version of the flyer already on the web site and will get a full blown version and the pouch up on your corner tonight.

unless of course, there never were 3, then the ONLY ONE would be the true only one, right?

If there were only one there may be none

You're a web site wizard, Larry!

I'll be off line a week or so. I'll get some more pics to you after than. Thanks again for all your efforts!
