WOW!
I've been practising tactical throwing with my cousin, and we've been using Our moving hawk target,(see my thread on moving targets)

And I stumbled upon a wicked throw!

My cousin was using the rope to swing the target, and we were laughing at my inability to hit the moving target.

But one time, half as a joke, I choked up on the the hawk till my hand was up against the head.(like in a close-quarters combat situations)

Anyways, I threw the hawk under hand, letting it slide out of my opened fist and flying, (UN-spinning, mind you) straight into the target.

If you have trouble picturing this, picture what the hawk looks like as you stab someone with it, handle slightly angled down in the back, and the leading edge corner stabbing your oponent. The Tomahawk flies out of you hand like this, and stays like this untill it lands in your target. you can do this accurately from a distance that is usually one and a half spins.

If you have trouble grasping this throw, try putting the hawk in a PVC pipe and doing the same throw.

This throw is SUPER easy to master and wickedly accurate. AND great for close moving targets.

Try this out! You'll love it, garunteed!

Please post any and all coments and replies! Please!

Sounds pretty nifty, Ill have to give it a try later today. There is a knife throw that is similar with a good sized blade. One holds the knife in his hand palm up and pulls it back and releases it when it lines with the target, resulting in a blade first no spin hit. The key is keeping your wrist straight and not trying to "add" any power to it.

ILIKESA,
you hit the nail on the head. thats exactly the advice I would give for this hawk throw, too.

I Cant Believe That No One Else Has Posted On This Thread! This Throw Is Wicked Awesome!! Maybe People Should Try It And Then Post!! Trust Me, This Throw Will Become A Favorite For Anyone Who Ever Thinks They Would Have To Seriously Throw Their Hawk!!

i'll try it tomorrow, i was out yesterday with my hawk just walking in the woods in back of my gramma's house, following coyote tracks. I was trying to throw but it's a little hard when you have gloves on and all the trees are frozen.
