alternate title " some times neighbors don't suck

well there I was tearing down an old rotted fence ( 15" AK in hand ) my back yard neighbor behind me walked up to the fence

started talking ,and we discussed the Kuk where its from what its good for , who makes them , who used them et...

he asked if they made a lighter one ( he's 75) I told him about the sira's ( being a damn good salesman btw )

turns out he was a pre Apollo rocket engineer and had a garage full of tools he bought at auction and doesn't use most of them any more . Well I took a look and lo and behold in the corner ,covered in dust was a pale green nearly new Grizzly Knife maker belt sander /buffer . so we made a deal I get him a 12 " sir and I get the sander

damn good deal IMO  :)

I can live with that- as long as he doesn't use the sander anymore- and you'll keep his Sirupati razor sharp for him.

You got a great deal. Sometimes people are very generous.

Been thinking might order a 15" sir and a 12" AK just to

1. give him a choice

2. be closer to actual retail cost

its just odd , I have been wanting to start knife making
have been checking tools and saving $$$ and here the grinder everyone tells me to get falls in my lap because I have a KUK in hand is just to weird
its a lightning bolt from the gods ( yes son , making knives it what you sould be doing) its Buddhisim at its best :p :) :)

God has a sense of humor and he's setting you up, DT. Or maybe not.

What a Deal!!!!:D Nice when things like this happen, better than nice really!!!!

DT, some of the guys here have done some really neat mods to their Grizzly's, improving them way beyond the original capacities of the machine. Might be something you would want to consider if you're really wanting to do long term serious work with your newly found Universal Gift.

even if it doesn't run, a new motor can be easily swapped in.

Great find, DT!

Get the grinder and put it to work, ok?
