Thought I'd unofficially reopen the Official ZT0562 thread. (I assume I'm on safe ground doing that as there's no official ZT presence on BF anymore. ;) )

I just looked on YouTube and there is STILL no comparison review of the ZT0562CF versus a 3.5" XM-18 flipper with a slicer grind. There are all sorts of reviews of the 0560 vs. the XM18, but the 0562CF is by far and away the closest thing to an XM-18 that ZT has yet produced. In fact, it may actually be an improvement on the XM-18. But so far, mum's the word.

I have to believe that SOMEBODY out there owns both these knives and would be willing to post a comparison review. So who's going to be the first to step up to the plate?

Curious minds want to know!

(PS: No worries, chaps. I won't close this thread no matter what happens. :) )

What I want to see is a comparison video between an eklipse and a 392.

Speaking of the 392, when's it coming out?

Do you think its named after the Mopar 392?

I bet those cars are fast. You think people who like knives like fast cars?
.l
I heard the hellcat is going to be supremely marked up.

Do you think that people in the car hobby complain about secondary prices as much as knife people do?

What can we do about secondary prices?

Do you think the weight of the knife has anything to do with the secondary values?

I like knives.

Also seems like the hype cooled down on this knife, yet it's still now widely available...unless you want to pay 400+ for one on eBay

here's a comparison video from darkchild57

Not gonna lie my 0562 has been frustrating the hell out of me. Centering issues, really early lock up leading to lock slippage. Finally fixed the centering and got a later engagement, thought I was home free, but lock slipping returned and some horizontal bladeplay (not true play but horizontal loads cause the lock to slip with an audible click). Probably going to send it to KAI, but I don't know if my 0562 will "be in spec" and get sent back to me in the same condition. . Love the knife, hate the OCD it brings out in me. Wish it was like my 0801. You could throw all the parts in a bag, shake it for a minute and have an assembled, centered, rock solid knife.

You know, the hype really died down on batman v superman after comic-con. I guess DC shouldn't release it because it clearly means no one cares about it anymore and not that people are waiting for it after getting their first taste...

It is a strange coincidence that both a Mopar 392 and 454 Big Block are ZT's next LE line.

I would also like to add that...
I like knives also.

What'd you do to it to get the later lockup? Hope you didn't void your warranty trying to fix something the warranty would have covered...

Thanks. Excellent review and gives the impression that the ZT is every bit the knife the XM is. The key question, of course, is whether a 3.5" XM-18 slicer/flipper is worth three times as much as a ZT 0562CF. The reviewer doesn't really address that issue, but it's clear he's taken with the 0562CF for good reason.

As far as "hype" is concerned, as long as there's a knife out there that compares favorably to an XM-18 at a third of the cost of the XM, I say bring on the hype!!!

wow! i think you should send it in, because i'm having a completely different experience. And I'm not gonna lie either, if anything this knife is very mindless. As in, I stopped worrying about all those issues you stated. This thing is pure edc heaven for me. More confidence inspiring than anything i've pocketed so far.

I don't like reviewing knives, but I guess I'll stick my neck out a little to defend this one. It's a burden, on one hand i feel guilty because i happened to get in early on a desirable model, so am i supposed to start selling other people online about how much i enjoy it and think its well worth the price? If I stay quiet, people see it as 'hype dying down' and that's not ideal for a blade that deserves a lot of praise (imo).

Why do you even care about the xm18 3.5 or the 0562? Neither meet your sub 4oz sub 3in requirement.

I've kinda wondered that. I've thought on several occasions I had started reading a thread over again since it's been brought up quite a number of times.

You guys are grinding on my last nerve with this, not a good place to be. If people cannot post commentary in a civil manner without getting pounced for it, then we have a problem.
If people cannot respond to a legitimate critique without getting pounced for it, we have a problem.
What to do...?
