I think I found a problem with cast aluminum handles.. Man! Right after I made it a sweet latch gate too! What a tragedy..

Classic. Simply classis.

I have several just like that, though not Tantos. That is how the Bear fails.

Absolutely textbook.

Notice, please that it is not the pins that broke. It is that Zamak casting where it gets to thin right near the top where they break.

Fortunately, you usually get a lot of wear out of one before they give out.

Bear's really would be a nice balisong if not for this one fatal flaw.

The blade, while not exactly world-class, is nice (hey, what do you expect for $25, Excaliber?), and the pins don't break. It's those @#*! handles.

I've looked at the bear in cutlery stores and thought it was decent until I read Chucks warning on the handle last fall.I also looked at the Jaguars and felt they were not bad until I read all the info.on Clays site about the pins.
It makes me wonder why these companies don't make that one change which would make their knives a much superior product. Is the cost difference really that great?By the time they figure this out Mike will hopefully have introduced some decent mid-range butterflys.

I agree.. They must make them like that on purpose so that I'd be back in the market for a new knife again.

My car sucks too - because of the same twisted logic.
